Antidisestablishmentarianism- is a political philosophy that is opposed to the separation of church and state. The term originated in the context of the nineteenth century Church of England, where theocratic "antidisestablishmentarians" were opposed to proposals to remove its status as the state church of England. Antidisestablishmentarianism succeeded in England, but failed in Ireland and Wales, with the Church of Ireland being disestablished in 1871 and the Church in Wales in 1920. The term has largely fallen into disuse, although the issue itself is still current.

Trickee

it's one of the funnest words to spell. I memorized it in 2nd grade and amazed  my friends. Fun times right there. And it's never in the spelling bees on tv. why not?
candlestickjack
10-04-2004, 06:48 PM
It's not in spelling bees on TV because they use hard words, not long words. Antidisestablishmentarianism is easy to spell, when I first heard the word a few years ago, I wrote it down to remember it, and I spelled it correctly.
EDIT:
and yet you didn't just then. proofread before posting. yeah, only one letter, but still...
wow, that was amazing. Thanx for the help  I was simply stating that it was easy to spell, but I was typing fast. Ok, my mistake, it's simple to spell if you are anal.
