I seen Catch Me If You Can last night, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. Besides the fact that everything that comes from Tom Hanks is a good movie, this one had many unexpected twists and turns.
Leo plays Frank Abagnale, a teenage con artist that scams Pan-Am airlines out of 4 million bucks by posing an an airline pilot. In the 60's that was a helluva lot of cash. Tom is the FBI agent, Carl Hanratty, who's life's mission is to catch Frank and lock him up. Frank also poses as a doctor and a lawyer and even passes the Lousiana Bar Exam and becomes an assistant prosecuter.
An added bonus in this movie was Christopher Walken, who plays Frank's dad, Frank Sr.
Just when you think Frank has finaly been captured and Hanratty wins, Frank slips thru the cracks, literally.

For those of you that have seen this movie already I have this to say:
"knock, knock"
"who's there?"..................

PS Here I give an actual movie review instead of just saying "this movie rocks" like in soooo many other movie threads in this topic.

technically you gave a brief summery. you left out your opinion of the movie, so i guess a "this movie rocks" would have sufficed.:D

I agree, the movie could have been tightened up a bit. I thought most of the actors did a great job, especially Christopher Walken, but I thought Spielberg tried to drag this out into an epic like most of his other movies. He's a great director, there's no doubt about that, but I thought the tone of this movie could have been a lot lighter. Although it could've been more the writer's fault than Spielberg, I didn't like how Abagnale's life was morphed into some sort of meaningful moral drama. After all, as the real life Abagnale said himself, he really became a con artist so he could get more chicks.

I enjoyed way more than I expected to. Leonardo almost managed to shake his pretty boy image. Almost.

kinda like teh way Johnny Depp will always be a 'pretty boy' no matter how long his facial hair gets?

I just can't seem to do it...I think my hatred for him stems from his days on Growing Pains

I didn't say I liked the show...hence, that's where my hatred of the guy was spawned...I think

yeah, Family Ties, Diff'rent Strokes, Brady Bunch, Facts of Life...staples of childhood viewing

"Turner and Hooch" and "Joe Versus the Volcano" both sucked dog balls as well.

Tom Hanks is a good actor, I'll I have to say is Big.

As for Johnny Depp....I think he is a superior actor and he has a lot of dark movies that are the opposite of what a "pretty boy" would be in I.E From Hell, Sleepy Hollow. I also think Leonardo Dicaprio is a good actor especially in Whats Eating Gilbert Grape (with Depp) and since I am sounding very gay right now (no offense to Tool or her gay friends) I'm going to stop this.

"From Hell" was a damn good movie. Depp was also good as the great Hunter S. Thompson in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". Even if I thought the movie was a poor adaptation of the book, Depp plays a great Thompson. And "Edward Scissorhands", there's another great Depp movie. And "Donnie Brasco". Now I'm starting to sound gay.

How could I have left out Fear and Loathing and Edward Scissorhands? Danm. I haven't read the book but thought the movie was fucking amazing. Benicio Del Toro was great too. He was hilarious in Usual Suspects givemethekeysyacocksuckawhatthefuck.

Little known fact about BDT: he was in Big Top PeeWee and played Duke, the dog faced boy. I'm sure he would want everyone to know that.

Okay I am late on this one, but I finally got to see it and I thought it was really good. I just might rent it when it comes out on DVD. I would like it if they followed it up with a real life interview on the DVD.
