No, it's not the end of my world. No, I'm not crying because of it.

BUT

I'm getting sick of that fucking annoying ass headbanging emoticon showing up in EVERY thread, at the end of multiple posts and in multiple signatures' beggining and end. Stop using it, everyone...just fucking stop. It makes you look like some young annoying prick.

I actually expected that, but I do know that there are a few other people who have the same opinion.

One of them is a mod, so I was hoping if I got a little more support possibly it could get deleted.

Iam one of those people, i find that emotion VERY disturbing, it should just be deleted.

I remember Cat had the same problem at one time or another. What the hell happened? Oh yeah, did you re-format your computer yet?

catgarvin

I did have that problem and it about drove me nuts. There's a few things I did before I got it fixed, the first time one thing worked, then it happened again, and then another thing worked.

Disturbed, here's some things to check:
Some pop-up blockers will do that, make sure the settings aren't too strict.

On IE, go to tools, internet options, advanced. Under "Multimedia" make sure "play animations on web pages" is checked.

Delete temp. files, thats under tool, internet. I do that all the time now.

then, I was on dial-up at the time, and Bellsouth had this thing called "Bellsouth Accelerator" to speed up loading of pages. I disabled it, and that took care of it the second time.

Ha ha ha what you guys dont understand is that ebaum or if there is another admin are the only people who can change emotions.

Mods cant... its the one ebaum picked so just like the other topics... live with it...

and anyhow thanks for the blank rep :bang: :bang: :bang:

and as you can see I like the smiley :)

I delete my cookies once in a while, then I have to re-login everywhere I go. I'm no good at explaining, but yeah, I think you should allow them. It's like, if you logged out every time you left ebaum's, it would delete the cookies for this site, and you'd have to login every time.

You need to get with someone who has mozilla and knows their stuff. They could probably get to the bottom of it.

You can allow them, but, also be weary that there are 'Tracking Cookies' which are not good for you. They're a type of spyware. So, you shouldn't allow third party cookies. But, as Cat stated, it is a good idea to clear out your cookies every once and a while.

EDIT: This is why a computer help forum might be interesting.:)

But when you clear them, leave the one that says "index". It will be either the very first or the very last one.

Though I, myself, love the various emoticons availible on this site, I wonder why they must 'all' be so 'stylish'. There are no emoticons that are just normal. A simple smiley would suffice nicely, and be less 'flashy' to the viewer who actually wishes to read a thread, rather than see the "  :bang: :banghead: " every 5 words, in my opinion.

hey, expert, maybe you can help disturbed with his problem of no animation on the animated avvys.

If it's about not being able to see animated gifs, that's an easy one.
Not having the proper Java plugin to your computer would hamper the animation's ability to view properly.
Here, this link should give the proper java aplet to make them work.
http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp

Also, make sure you have "Play Animations" enabled in IE Tools/ Internet options/ advanced.

Make sure your firewall allows it as well, as many are known to stop them from being viewable properly.
For Zone Alarm Pro, it's under privacy->main->ad blocking

Hope that helps.

Nah, I don't think that's it, but he'll let you know. I think he could see them, but can't now, I've had the same problem before, but he has mozilla.

It's discussed in this very thread. Thanks.
