Where I work, we have a section for magazines. When I take a break, I'll grab it and flip through it.

I get Road and Track, Car and Driver, and Consumer reports, for performance road and track roxorz, but consumer is best for pretty much everything else. ex. Ride quality, reliability.....

I subscribe to:
Motor Trend
Car and Driver
Road and Track
Automobile
Consumer Reports
All have great articles and all are good for some things. Some of these magazines run import cars really well and American cars really bad. Some vice versa and others run all cars just alright. Mostly I just read the articles, get there numbers, take their views with a grain of salt, and go test them myself. I have driven hundreds of cars from a Gremlin to a Vanquish (that was the greatest thing I have ever driven...I still have goosebumps). The thing about all of these articles is that they produced those numbers, on that specific day, at that specific location, with those specific weather conditions, and with that driver. IT WILL NOT BE THE SAME FOR EVERYONE EVERYWHERE! I run most American sports cars faster than Road and Track and Automobile and I run some imports faster than Motor Trend. And then again sometimes I try and try but never match any of there numbers. Motor Trend tends to be my favorite because they will tell you exactly why they got the numbers they did and under what conditions. They put a lot more time into testing their vehicles. Just check out any of their Speed issues and you will know what I mean. So if you really want to know what car is better.....then go drive it yourself and see how you do in it, because the driver makes all the difference.

And by the way......ride quality and all of those comfort issues strictly depend on the driver. Some may like it while others don't. So when you say, "this car has a sucky ride quality," realize that is only for you and not everyone shares your opinion.

thats completey true, it all depends on the writers viewpoints. i don't care if they say they are not biased, they are. if you redad about a car in one magazine, chances are that in another, they have different numbers, and liked and disliked diefferent things, which may conflict. for an axample, i read in car and driver or road and track ( it was a long time ago, so i don't remember which one) and they had a comparisonarticle, i think between a z3 and a boxster. they were hailing the z3, yet another comparison in a european magazine z3 and boxster again, constantly destroyed the z3, and hailed the boxster.

I subscribe to a lot of car magazines -- so many that I can't keep up! Road & Track, Car & Driver, Motor Trend, Automobile, European Car, BMW Performance (British mag), Grassroots Motorsports, Roundel, Playboy (oops, wrong forum). The best one that every auto enthusiast should subscribe to is AutoWeek. It's the most informative but I wish they would do comparos like the top 3 car mags do.
I do like Road & Track but I prefer the old style--before they made it bigger.
