Ok first, the US was involved in WWII for longer than 2 years. They didn't mop up, they lead the invasion of Europe which was D-Day. If the US wasn't involved in the war, Germany would of concentrated more troops to the eastern front which could of changed the outcome of the fighting with Russia.

We beat the Japanese through intense naval warfare and through Marine lead invasions on islands such as Iwo Jima ect. You make it sound as if the US just sailed over to Japan right after the Pearl Harbor bombings and dropped the bombs. We were at war till 1945.

Germany went to attack France because it was a matter of time before France retaliated for Alsase and Lorraine, but detoured through Belgium bringing Britain and Canada in.
