In other words, what bands have you found out about at this forum. Before this forum, I use to listen to stuff like Pearl Jam, Slayer, Arch Enemy, SOAD, Misfits, Sex Pistols, Death, and alot of more mainstreamish bands. Not like they suck or anything, they're great bands, but if it wasn't for this for this forum I wouldn't be listening to most of the bands I do. What about you guys?

The Misfits are mainstream, I can safely say that every time I've been to the mall I've seen someone with a Misfits shirt on.

Alright, when I said 'sound', I didn't mean music. I meant the sound of their name. Sorry for the confusion there lol

Their name does sound kind of fruity. It was the name of a theater out somewhere in California, I think.

Really, does it still exist? Cause if it doesn, I might go check it out knowing i live in Cali.

Edit: I have to admit though, before I listened to Dream Theater, I doubted I would like them, but here I find myself playing many songs by them and listening to them all day.

I believe it was still standing by the time they renamed themselves. I know it's gone now.

Misunderstood, Glass Prison, Pull Me Under, Acid Rain(no vocals), and As I am are pretty good songs in my opinion. They're a Prog Metal band so I'm not sure if you would listen to that sort of music, but I highly reccomend you check them out.

Pain of Salvation is a progressive metal. Progressive metal is sort of metal except not as heavyish. It usually doesn't have a lot of screaming. Sort of like a calmer metal in a way. It usually has more technical parts on guitar. Not necessarily fast though. Most of it has keyboard in it. Sorry, I don't have good way in describing it.
