Pimp my ride

I am upset with the MTV show pimp my ride. All they do is the outside of the cars. They never do any engine work on the cars. Half the time the cars barely even run but they still dont work the the engines. What is the point of a nice car if it does not run. Is this what the world has come to. Lets fuck the engine the car looks good WOW! Now everyone at my school thinks their cool because they got chrome rims like on pimp my ride. :banghead: Am I the only person that sees this problem. Please say you guys agree with me.

LMAO thats the most dumbest and ugliest design. IF the car is a sports vehicle it should be fixed like a sports vehicle.. This one show i saw on TNN they fixed the cars way better than on Pimp my ride.. THey even showed the engine!! :D :bang:

The put a new engine in a car once. other than that I don't know. I saw one of the cars on ebay too, and the girl selling it said that they had done some engine work to it so that i runs great now. Not sure what that means they did, but they might be doing somthing to fix the engines.

as i understand, they make sure it runs properly, nothing more. they add like 400 kg of electronics and junk, but they don´t add any power to the engine...

i hate that show. the cars aren´t meant to be driven, they´re built for shows. nothing more.

i think it was a ford escort it was cut in half down the middle and welded to another ford escort haha and at some points it was liek puddied on they didnt even weld the whole thing

Ok I know this is way off topic but I didn't wanna start a new thread and it kind of goes along the lines of pimping a ride, Is it rare to see a 1998 Corvette pace car on the road from Indianapolis 500? Had yellow rims and it was purple with some decoration on the side that said Idianapolis 500. Anyways just wondering if I should be grateful or shrug it off. I looked it up and said there were only 12 or something. Maybe Im crazy.

They do they fix everything up. They just don't show it. I think most people would rather watch 30 mintes of nice rims rather then nasty to clean engine.

Anybody else get annoyed with the fact they "GHETTO" most cars? I mean half the time I think most people feel dissapointed, they'd much rather just have thier car restored...rather than put a chandelier, coffee maker, bubble machine, or fish tank. The paint jobs are horrific half the time as well.

if you want to watch a show where they make the car look nice and go fast then watch tuner transformation on speed channel or watch overhaulin' on TLC. on overhaulin chip foose designs and helps build them and they put a new engine and all in the car. I AGREE PIMP MY RIDE SUCKS.

Overhaulin' is good, and I also watch "Rides" sometimes on TLC. The host is annoying as hell, but they've had some decent episodes.

on the one where they paint the truck TAngellow i noticed something while they were painting.. i am, they could have left a couple of them muscle car, like the mustang.
plus they put some stupid shit in them like a espresso machine and a chandilear in the firebird, or the dryer in the VW bus, or the sink in the saburban

Like the time they put metallic flakes in the paint. It din't look like a disco ball was on the highway, it looked like one of the cars on the local carnival rides broke off! that shows alright sometimes. when they put the 20'' rims on the trans am i turned it off. that just ruins a muscle car. they did make the one suburban nice tho. they lifted it instead of dropping it like they usually do and gave it bigger tires. they lifted a suzuki samari also. overhaulin' is definatly better tho because they really work the engines.

There is a couple in houston, But they are kinda of rare and good looking cars.

And for what it is, Pimp my ride is a decent show. It is all about ridiculous excess and that sums up there cars :rolleyes:

I don't like pimp my ride either... Seriously what are cars made to do, they are made to be driven, what good is a car if it cant do that. They make the cars look "Pretty" when they should be working on the driveability of it.

i will give them props for their bodywork...like when they rebuilt the door on that purple civic...........hated the car but i was impressed with the repair.
