Goddamn I have been waiting for this!! Great job Ebaum for finally putting this on here!!!
Anyways, first question that I would have to ask has to deal with college football...Will the BCS stand the way it is for much longer?
Personally, I feel that the system needs to change, but it won't. The university presidents are too greedy to change the system.

I guess I'll post what I said on the E/N thread, as it's what I feel
I go to Cal, and I can say that while I was obviously pissed at Texas for passing us, the real problem goes a bit beyond simply one college...
The real problem is that conference champions in the BCS conferences get automatic BCS bids, which really screws up the system when a conference champion has a crappy season. Pittsburgh (8-3, #21 in the BCS), in particular, has no business being in a BCS bowl when Cal or Texas would not be. It's asinine to hand out a bid to the Big East when it is a crappy conference, and will be even worse when Boston College leaves next season.
As for Cal vs. Texas, there were some interesting goings-on in the AP and Coaches' polls, but even a favorable changing of votes would not have saved Cal, unfortunately. I think it's really stupid that a 10 point win on the road, in a game that should have been played several months ago, against a bowl-team that had an 18-3 (or 18-4, something like that) record at home over the past four years dropped us that much. Had we played the game back in September and won 26-16, I doubt it would have had anywhere near the same effect.
I favor either the old bowl system or an eight team playoff...the BCS hasn't solved the problem of a split national championship, and the computers have given us some questionable national championship games (hello, Nebraska!)

It definitely needs to be changed. Theres no way a team should go through the SEC schedule and go undefeated, then denied a chance to play for the National Championship. There were a lot of deserving teams that got left out, and that shouldn't happen.

What about a playoff system? That would be so sweet...for anyone that has seen playoff football at any level, it is definetly a different experience...
The shitty thing is that this is money driven. Insight.com is paying some serious $$$ to have their logo all over a game as well as tostidos and nokia and all those other fuck ass corporate giants...as long as that continues, a playoff system will never happen...

Untill they implement a playoff system <that will never happen> we will have this debate. Some where someone is going to get screwed. This year you could make an argument for several teams.I agree with Ace Hippe. The automatic bids should be done away with.
4 major bowls go to top 8 teams,or give us a play off.On another note.
Outside of the National Championship what bowl does everyone think will be the most exciting to watch and for what reason?
I have my guess and can argue this one till time stands still with stats and facts.

I'm pretty anxious to see all the BCS bowls except the championship game. I want to see if Texas deserved a BCS bid.

I wasn't even paying attention and then I see we have a sports page. This is good stuff.
As for the BCS I'm pulling for Virginia Tech against Auburn. I'm from Virginia and a UVa fan, but since Tech is representing my state in the BCS I have to go with them.
I think Auburn is going to kill them though. :(
