Look at this forum and tell me what you see.

These polls are getting absurd and they’re drowning out any legitimate threads. I mean look at this screenshot, 11 out of 15 threads are polls; it’s clearly out of control. I think if the posters can't use the poll feature responsibly, then they shouldn't have it as a feature. This forum can become a good one but it needs quality threads. Now before someone attempts to burn me by saying why don’t I make a quality thread instead of this one, I’ll say this: a quality thread isn’t something that you should be able to ‘make’ on demand. I know that most threads are created that way and I also know that most threads are a complete waste of time.

Just try to have a little self control before posting….it had to be said.

When you meet someone in real life, whats the first thing you do? Try to find out as much as possible about them. The same thing applies here. With these polls, people can learn more about each other's opinons in sports and might even learn something themselves. They are also a great topic for debate, especially those are trying to determine the greatest players in all of the sports.

I think it's not quite so black and white of an issue. If the polls lead to people only voting and/or leaving short comments, then there is a problem. On the other hand, if people are providing commentary and the actual discussion turns into a debate, then they aren't all that bad, especially as you can pick your targets depending on who you think was most off on who/what they picked in the poll ;)

New poll, should we execute people that use "lol" more than once in their post?

It will pass by, it is just that in a new forum people are trying to create as many original threads as possible. Let these topics wear themelves down and we will start getting specific topics.
