old corvetts are always going to be better looking than the new ones, they are all similar except 4 the names.

1971 Dodge HEMI Challenger R/T
Engine: 426 Cubic Inches
425 HP @ 5,000 RPM
490 LB-FT @ 4,000 RPM
Transmission: 3-Speed
TorqueFlite Automatic
4-Speed Manual (optional)
Production: 296
Hardtop :: 287
Convertable :: 9
Performance:
0-60 :: 5.8 Seconds
1/4 Mile :: 12.95 @ 106.5 MPH
The R/T was the top performance lineup for the Challenger in 1971, and the 426 cubic inch HEMI was the most powerful engine offered by Dodge. Dodge outfitted the HEMI Chqallenger with thicker torsion bars, stout front anti-roll bar, and thicker rear springs. The Dana 9-3/4 limited slip rear was standard to absorb the punishing torque generated by the HEMI. After 1971, the HEMI was discontinued and was never offered in another Dodge production automobile.

dodge charger. always. if it was good enuff for bo duke its good enuff for me.
thing is tho, a detroit big lump...v8, lots of cc, they rev quite slow but have a high torque range. a small 2 litre japanese car with a very high revving engine, light wieght chasis and plastic wings will always go 0-60 faster. power to weight you loe out on muscle cars. plus drum brakes were standard on most of them on the front wheels fuck driving that in the wet!!

0-60 is a function of HP/Torque, traction and weight. Saying that a small japanese car will always reach 0-60 faster is totally incorect. Do you know how many Japanese cars I beat to 60mph all the time? granted I dont' have a big block, but I still got a v-8 (350cc)

LOL you're so dumb, I can't see how you can breathe. How does "revving slow" equate to bad 0-60 times? Just because the little tach goes up faster, speed must also, right? ;) Bahahahahahaha.......All larger engines, built by japs or not, rev slower because displacement is a factor of bore and STROKE. Stroke of the crank, as in length. A longer stroke means it's harder to rev as high. BUT, hp = Torque/RPM * 5250...............Small engines rev high, but don't make torque.................so it all evens out. A low 0-60 is a result of power to weight, with traction and gearing. LOL I BET THE "PLASTIC WINGS" ALSO HELP. All old cars had shitty brakes, so I don't get what you mean there. Today they make kits for updated brakes and suspension that work well. My slug '78 Trans Am bone stock still outran "high revving japanese cars" at the track, which was pathetic. My pile had 180 hp and about 320 TQ because of emission shit on the car and how overall detuned it was. Torque was what kept that thing going. Then I dropped a full second in the 1/4 with just an exhaust system lol. That's how bad it was, and it still beat modded honduhs. Now I have another, low revving pos on my hands with my LS1. Damn 13 sec quarter miles and 160 mph top speed stock, I wish I could rev higher. :(

HONDA Helping Out Nips Destroying America. You go ahead and put all the 2 liter plastic cars with plastic wings and neon lights with stickers that MUST add horsepower when it says honda racing team and NOS and SUPER STREET with a little atomic symbol in the middle all over you want into a real drag race even up north of me in Pueblo Colorado where we race where there are FEW cars too far from stock and we will see how many Jap cars win.....0!!!!! Its sooo stupid my friend built a 1972 El Camino its a big old boat weighing about 3500 Lbs making around 325 HP at the rear wheels and about 375 at the flywheel with a 350 bored .40 over goin on 3 sumthin gears and no posi or anything in the rear end runnin in the high 15's. hes spent maybe $2000 on the car TOTALLY from purchasing the car to rebuilding the Trans (TH350 w/ B&M shift kit) and he DESTROYS ricers that spend $30,000 just to BUY the car! ricers are ridiculous you rice boys need to go away and quit causing us REAL car people trouble. Especially since most of you couldnt tell a rear end from a horses ass. Signed Justin

1968 Shelby Mustang GT-500 KR (http://forum.ebaumsworld.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=15092&stc=1)
"KR" stood for "King of the Road" - a name that was supposedly taken from General Motors. The GT-500 KR used Ford's new Cobra Jet GT engine opposed to the 428 ci engine used in the the '67 and '68 GT500's. The 335-hp claimed by Shelby is most likely a gross understatement. The number given by Shelby was to lower insurance costs. A total of 933 GT-500KR fastbacks were produced along with 318 convertibles.

Try a stock turbo 300ZX for 14s..........The naturally aspirated ones are 15 second pigs...........They were also very expensive when they were new, along with the 3000GT and other high end imports when they were new on showroom floors.

I can't decide between:
The 66' GTO
The 69' Charger
The 70' Roadrunner
I once was going to buy a 69' Charger that ran perfectly for $2500, I had a contract and a reserve down payment. I was going to buy it the following Thursday; but, I recieved a call Wednesday and the seller informed me that the person he bought it from bought it on a lean and it had to be taken away. I was heartbroken.
Oh Yeah does anybody else consider Mustangs (Coupes that is) to be the Civics of the 60's? I.E: Everyone has one and they all think that their fast.
