Ok, i was just wondering if everybody else had to buy there first car? or if a relative (parent,grandparent,uncle,etc...) bought one for you? i had to buy my first car so all i could afford was a 91 grand am w/ 203,000 miles on it. Its not that my parents couldnt afford it, they just wanted me to learn something about money. I dont know i was just always pissed cause a friend of mine got a BMW from his parents. That spoiled little bitch. Anyway, what about everyone else?

I didn't have to pay for my first, second or third car. Am I spoiled because of that? Maybe, I don't know, I don't give a fuck. Should I have refused the cars so I could "learn something about money"? Hell no! What are you suppose to learn anyway? That cars are expensive and it sucks paying for stuff on your own? I can figure that one out on my own. Why are you pissed that your buddy got a BMW? Regardless of the reason, if you are pissed, go slash his tires and rape one of his housepets. That'll make you feel better. Pervert.

I bought my first car for $150 dollars. it was a '93 huandi excell with 75,000 miles on it, thatwas back in 96. i have no idea why the owner sold it for $150, because it ran fine untill i wrecked it. now i have my second vehicle, a '98 full size chevy with the works.....again i had to pay for it. i wish someone would buy me a vehicle.....shit

I have bought every car I have owned...
1st 1984 Honda Civic $1500
2nd 1992 Buick Park Avenue
3rd 1998 Nissan 200sx SER
4th 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis

My mom wouldn't let me pick my first car even though I had to pay for it, she said I would pick something that had a salvaged title. I just asked for American made and an automatic. I got a Honda with a 5-speed and it had a salvaged title, looked nice though. I had to learn how to drive the 5 speed. It took me about 30 minutes of driving it and then I went and got my license. Scarey... they gave it to me the first time and I had only driven for 30 minutes, plus the 10 it took to get to the DMV.

I hope you didn't buy that 2002 Grand Marquis brand new. If you did, then you've learned nothing about money. My grand generalization for the night will be that people who've never had money don't know how to spend it when they finally do. That's why most poor people stay poor and most rich people stay rich. It has nothing to do with the Horatio Alger myth, family money, or any of that crap. True, some people start from nothing and grow rich beyond their wildest dreams, others have a ton of trust funds and inheritance cash, but those people are exceptions to the rule. Why do you think so many rock stars go bankrupt? It's because they spend too much and save too little. Don't end up like MC Hammer. Buy used cars, they're just as good and a lot less expensive.

Well, lets play a little lesson called when you grow up. When you get a real job... if you can find a place where they hire deerfuckers, maybe you might need to have a nice car for clients and bosses. Maybe you may be smart enough to use it as a tax write off as well... but I doubt that... there is nothing wrong with my marquis... The ONLY thing I wish is that I could go and get the Marader version out this year... that car kicks ass too.

I'm two years older than you, so let's not play that lesson (although I don't know how you're suppose to "play" a lesson anyway). Trying to seem financially savvy because you know what a tax write off doesn't really impress me much either.

I dont know why I'm so impressed with a chick having 253 posts in 10 days plus a job with clientel plus time for a relationship plus a new car. All these plus' must equal one thing...I gotta know....who's your pimp? I have a DVD called American Pimp, i think by the Hughes Brothers, maybe he made a cameo? Is your new car lime green with gold dice on the rearview?

No, but that would be pretty trend setting. I have to admit I am usually pretty busy. I have no pimp. I am just a smart girl. I start work at 6am - 3pm, I have free time that I usually use to do homework or bike or ride my horses, then I go to school, I am trying to finish a masters degree in English. I work hard thats all. As of late, I am free to join the forum because school is out of session.

Well, I can't argue with you there. I hope you get your masters...but out of curiosity..what do you plan to do with a masters in english? If it's teaching maybe you should start an online course in eBaum's world because some of these fuckers are incompetant.

Thanks Donny. I am not quite sure what to do with one. The counselor at the college says law would be good to go into, either that or teaching. My company reimbursed me for all of my college hours, and they had to approve of what I wanted to study. English was something they okay'd and I was good at so I knew I would make the grades. Now math... I am horrible at, I am so caculator dependent. But I would be more than happy to try to help some of the feeble minded ones, if I wasn't afraid I would pull my hair out.

My father actually built my first car for me. He restored a 1979 Chevy Camaro from the ground up. After we finished with the Camaro (and when it was no longer street legal... heh...) we purchased a 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger. I still have it to this day, its a badass car. Call me a spoiled bitch if you want, I dont care. I'll just be laughing as I pass you on the freeway.

My first Car? Hmmm... my dad bought me a 83 datsun-nissan (before they split) Sentra for $150, but before I got the license, I moved out, and spent my life savings (a whopping $600) on an 85 pontiac 6000... I started with the Nissan until Dad got the Pontiac legal... then I swapped to the pontiac... one year later, the motor was blown, b/c I didn't know my guages weren't working, and it had overheated too many times... So back to the Nissan. I drove it 'til it wouldn't go anymore (the bottom was rusted out and the frame was in danger of falling apart, and the clutch finally gave up), and then I bought a '92 GMC Jimmy from my mother for $2000.00, although it was well worth $4500.00 at the time. My next purchase was after totalling the Jimmy, I bought a '94 Toyota Tercel... the motor was in real need when I sold it 4 months ago... but I sold it so my shit-eating ex-fiance could no longer stalk me by looking for the car.... I am now without transportation, and happy that way for now...

The original deal with Dad was that I would pay him back the whopping $150 for the nissan after I got a job...

What up?! My first car was a 'Benz CL55- AMG-Coupe. It's black and it has the usual benz lights in front. It has an awesome V-8 engine and goes freakin' 0-60 in 6 sec! the grill has the large mounted mecedes logo, which I like alot! It cost me 80 freakin' grand (parents picked up da bill). My dad is a control-systems specailist and my mom is a lawyer and they can afford such things. My mom drives a blue Beemer Z-4 roadster and my dad drives a old and boxy, but nice, Mercedes C320.

Now I drive 2 carz my first benz (graduation present) and a Ferrari 360 spider. (one of Ferrari's lesser cars) so don't think that i'm like Bill Gates or notin' cause he has a Mclaren F-1 le mans.(only 5 in the world!!!)

I must say, my niggers, my first car was a '62 Chevy. It was a nice American car, the only type of car you should buy! I mean my fellow black people. As a country leader, I must tell Baby_Jesus that you are not being helpful to our world. The money you wasted on expensive European cars should have gone to all the poor Americans who need money and cars of their own. You are too greedy, my nigger. I mean my friend. You should sell your expensive cars to the car manufacturers and give the money away to charity. Then buy a Dodge Neon. That is a nice, solid American car that beats the tail out of those gaudy European junk-mobiles! Remember to vote for me! And power to the people!

Hate to rain on your parade, Nocturnal, but unless your Trans-Am is really modified, there are a lot of cars besides a modified Supra that can beat you. (A normal twin-turbo Supra w/ 320 bhp can outrun an average Trans-Am, or even a Formula)
True, I don't believe there are any Lexus cars that can outdo you, as they're not really built for speed anyway, but there are several BMW's that could, unless of course your Trans-Am is ridiculuously modified, of course.
