All i got to say is this, kobe raped that girl, karl malone should kick his ass, and shaq needed to leave the lakers, shaq fits better in miami, the lakers are all about one person and thats Kobe, i hate it when ppl refer to him as the next michael jordan, there will never be another mj in our life time. If i was to build a franchise around one person, it would be SHAQ!

forget both of them why not just go get lebron james and build your shit around him make it simple because lebron is the next MJ whether anyone likes it or not.....

If I were going to build a franchise around either Kobe or Shaq, I would choose Kobe because he is way younger. Shaq has no more than 4 productive years left including this one. And LeBron=will be better than Mike.

Well the corner stone to any good team would be a center. But as of right now Shaq is not as dominate (not yet atleast) as he was a couple of years back. It's really hard to compare the two, teams are based mostly on dominate center play. Guards are usually the ball handlers and play makers. It's really just difficult to even compare the two...

I hate both of them, but if you have to take one of them, I'd take Kobe, put him on a team with Lebron and Vince Carter, and Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan. Fuck Shaq, he's old and fat.

That's why he still averages 20 a game without hitting free throws, considering Shaq is the most beat up player on the court, dude gets banged on every play he has, stop ragging on him for being 7 foot, don't say he's lucky, if he wasn't 7 foot, he would have some other job somewhere, but he is 7 foot, so he took advantage of it and he's good.

You know i dont care too much for this article or the creator, but you also dont know anything either, if you double team shaq, you leave a extra man open, wade and jones, thats what they did to shaq in L.A., thats why they won back to back to back championships. No, kobe is not the next Michael Jordan, neither is Labron James, both are explosive players, but nobody could be the next michael jordan.

It's not that hard to be the next Jordan, shoot threes and dunk....Lebron can dunk, and Lebron is on a faster pace in scoring than Jordan was

It's really hard to be the next Jordan. That's just beyond retarded what you've just said. Shooting threes and dunking isn't the only thing to make you the best. You should be able to score two pointers, free throws, not just dunking and scoring threes You have to be persistent. You shouldn't give up because your down by 2 points and there's .7 seconds left. You should be a good team mate; don't always hog the ball, try passing. Try being a good leader, and give others chances. Jordan did all of these, that's why he's the best.

Now, I'm not too sure of Lebron James, because I don't watch basketball anymore. I should, and maybe I will, but anything is possible.

LeBrons game has already reached a level thats above most of the players in the game today. Its safe to say that hes up there with KG, Shaq, Kobe...the NBAs Elite. Hes only 19, and he can outplay most of the players in the league. Barring any severe injuries or legal trouble, players will want to be the next LeBron. MJ has been the greatest player in the NBA and LeBron resembles him a lot. All he needs to do is work on his free throws, and he'll be the complete player...at age 19.

I am not taking nothing away from kobe or lebron, they are tremendous players, but you cant sit there and compare someone who has been in the league 1 yr with michael jordan, jordan had a tremindous career, except when he came back to play with the wizards, Kobe on the other hand sucked when he first entered the nba, but look at him now, he is one hell of a clutch player, great perimeter shooter.

TheDawgPound72

If you ever watch a game when LeBron plays, you would see the pure ability he has. At 19, hes one of the smartest players on the floor and the player with the most athletic ability. Im impressed more on how he shares the ball over his scoring. He'll drive into the paint, jump in the air, and while in mid-air, he'll find a player open for a good shot. The plays he makes are crazy. And don't forget the turnaround of the Cavs the last two years. They went from a team at the bottom of the standings to a serious contender. They will win Championships with LeBron. He makes all of his teammates better and he gets better everyday. As of now, we're not saying that hes better than MJ. Were just comparing him to MJ, to see where he stacks up. His potential is incredible, and he will someday, be regarded as the best player in NBA history.

Huh? Did you ever, you know, see Jordan play? He wasn't a particularly good three point shooter. He didn't take a ton of them and he had a pretty average percent. He made some very, very memorable ones in his career, but they were not one of his strong points. Scottie Pippen shot and made more three pointers than Michael Jordan. Plus, the Bulls always had a three point specialist to come off the bench to compliment Jordan and Pippen - Hodges, Kerr. (Paxson was also a good three point shooter, but did enough more than that to be classified as more than a three point specialist.) He was just good enough at it to force defenders not to give him wide open looks, allowing him to drive to the basket more effectively.

He did dunk a lot, especially early in his career. He was able to get to the basket like few before him and was able to finish, whether with a dunk or acrobatic lay up (or a foul). It was flashy and its what got him a lot of his glamour early in his career, but its not what won him championships in his last six full seasons with the Bulls.

He was a threat to score from anywhere on the floor at any time. He could post up defenders, take them off the dribble or rise up and shoot over them. In his later threepeat run, he perfected the fade away mid-range jumper that was virtually unstoppable. Throughout his entire career he maintained an unprecedented ability to score. No one has ever averaged as many points throughtout a career, no one has ever won more consecutive scoring titles. What a lot of people also don't realize is that he made his teammates better. Scottie Pippen, Tony Kucoc, Steve Kerr, Luc Longley, Scott Williams and many many more players flourished while playing with Jordan and struggled when they weren't playing with him. And all of this says absolutely nothing about his defense - which was almost as good as his offense - or his will to win, which is what drove him beyond just a great scorer into the legendary champion he became.

I didn't think I'd see anyone that had a chance to rival Jordan for a lot of years, but I do think that LaBron has a chance. Its still WAY too early to start comparing, but his potential is basically ceilingless at the moment. The one doubt I have is that his body matured and developed 5-10 years faster than most pros. I can see his ability topping out a bit younger than most because he's already reached a level of developement that even Jordan didn't reach until his mid to late 20s. I think it will be a lot of fun to see just how good he can become and hope he turns out to be a better representative for the league than Kobe has become.

LEBRON JAMES will be the next Jordan. Im from Cleveland, I wtahc the games. He rebounds, passes, and scores. He flat out leads the team. I'd like to see a dunk contest between him and Jordan in his prime. I think Lebron could jump higher.

Oh and mods go ahead and ban me. You see i was soccerrocker232, i was misteriously banned, then i made a new account after waiting a week. I asked mg what was going on because i had seen all the other people like remote making a new account. I know he did not return (thank god) but kane said he could. True. But for me, Shaq would be a much more better suit for me, not only does he dominate the game, but he makes players like wade, jones great athletes. Not only that, i think he also helped kobe achieve his greatness today. I think that they both will realize that they were once a dominate duo, and that they may never win a championship again, but if it was too happen, i think the heat would win one first.

Wow, you talking about somebody not knowing anything about basketball? Ha, there are plenty of ignorant Kobe fans out there that think he is the next MJ. Also, you mentioned something about Shaq turning it over when he is double-teamed? Check out what player is leading the league in turnovers and you would see that it is the rapist himself, Kobe Bryant. Yeah, you sir KNOW nothing about basketball. Athankyou.

I really don't care if Kobe made a season high, but i am really sure he hog'd the ball all night. Kobe focus's more on himself rather than his team. He would rather drive phil, shaq and karl out of L.A. and call it his team, instead of squashing the beef and winning more Rings.

It's not hard to be the next Jordan when you have the poise and determination to be like Jordan. Lebron hast he greatest chance of becoming Jordan but he has a long way to go.

Jordan was never known for 3 pointers you numb skull.
Jordan averaged 28.2 PPG in his rookie season and Lebron averaged 20.9.
Jordan averaged 22.5 in his 2nd season because he played only 18 games that season due to a critical injury, and Lebron's averaging 23.9 right now so how is Lebron on a faster pace? Learn your basketball before talking smack.
I doubt Lebron will average 37.1 PPG for a season or average 30.1 for a career like Jordan did. Learn your stuff. Stop talking crap.

Shaq was the leader and was the main reason for the 3 championships. Kobe was always second tier. These days, you need a dominant big man to go anywhere.

Thank you. They definitely play best as a team. Everybody that says that they are too selfish, shut the fuck up. If I had a free shot at the basket, I'd take it. Whenever they pass it, it goes in half of the time (except of course the team for the threepeat, then it would be about 75% of the time).

Of course, now they need to a new pair.

And for all of you saying Lebron James is better than Jordan, YOU ARE AN IDIOT. They aren't even in the same ball park.
