If anyone saw this movie... can they explain to me why they didnt make a radio as opposed to a the plane that they did make. they lost a arieral and how does taht stop them from makein a new one....TV's and coat hangers

1. It wouldn't be a movie if they didn't find a way out rather than making a radio
2. It's very hard to make a radio, it would involve more than just making an aerial, it was implied and probabaly true that the radio itself was damaged during the crash.
