problems viewing .wmv

...even on windows media player

this is a fairly recent problem, and i can't figure out what's going on. i can hear the videos just fine, but the picture won't show. (including the period video and ebaum's cnn appearance)

historically i've been able to view them just fine (for example, that macintosh parody somebody posted on here...)

weird, now i can't view those either. (i used to be able to view those, but not random ones of these)

i did a formatting last night b/c a bunch of stuff was just dying on my computer so anything that was previously corrupted should no longer be. any ideas what the problem is?

i know this is a contradictory post, but i had a similar problem with my windows media player...except my video would cut off after 5 seconds lol...


download all of the media player up dates and reboot...if you still have the problem, get an EARLIER version of media player. i think i'm useing 8 right now (could be wrong on release #) but it plays fine. when ever i update to wmp 9, then i have the same problems again

i'm on 7.0 which is the same kind that was on here when i first got my computer. (note the formatting done two nights ago)

i installed the updates and rebooted a few hours ago, but still, nothing.

nevermind, problem fixed. don't really know what was going on earlier :confused: after i installed 9.0 it liked me better

Don't know how it would help u viewing wmv shit, but ill figure that out...
