Guns N' Roses, Axl Rose went crazy and tried to make a new style in ther music, all the other members were opposed to that, and well you know the rest of the history.
Axl Rose managed to have the right of "Guns and Roses" name, and now claims to be releasing an album called "Chinese Democracy" anywhere soon (but has said that for 3 years or more).
And some of the former band members including Slash, reunited with the singer of Stone Temple Pilots, and formed a band called "Velvet Revolver", that seems to be a good band, I haven't listened to them well.
Anyway Guns and Roses Split was pretty awful because they were the biggest Rock and Roll band in that time, and since when they split up, Hip-Hop music, Pop music, has become very popular.

Yeah, I was upset about there split because I just love the band. But ive seen some of velvet revolvers singles, and slash is just as good as ever. I got the greatest hits cd just to cheer me up.

OH NO!!!!!!!!! Busted have split??? I am gonna cry myself to sleep tonight, all we are gonna be left with is the Busted wannabes McFly
I remember when Take That split I was wetting myself laughin at school bcoz all the girls were acting like they had just lost every member of their family in some freak accident, it was so funny they were all crying, I couldnt believe it, needless to say me and my friends werent very sympathetic to their loss and harrassed the silly slaggs all day with taunts about how they are all just a bunch of fat gay tap dancers anyway.

Guns N Roses splitting up was good for Axl IMO
The origional GN'R couldn't make a song this good.

The Beatles split was huge.
I say good riddance to what was essentially a generic 'punk pop' band comprising of a few posh-boy buffoons still recovering from puberty. It's not like they did anything new or original and I think their early demise is a reflection on that.

Untrue in everyway. Axl was a cocky asshole, In my opinion the split was better for slash.

I was real disappointed when Slow Roosevelt broke up. Most of you have probably never heard of them, but I loved them. They only released one CD, Wieghtless, and it was damn good. Seen them live a couple times. They were damn good.

Probably Guns N' Roses, like mentioned above, one of the best bands in history, all went to hell. Velvet Revolver is good, but nowhere near as good as Guns N' Roses. Sure Axl was an asswipe, but his stage presence and voice is just so much better than Weiland's.
That is about the only band that I am upset quit in my lifetime. Well, now Van Halen probably.

Well, Led Zeppelin splitting was pretty bad, but if you listen to their music, you can kind of see it reaching the end. They just weren't as good later than they were in the beginning.

I wasn't around at the time because i'm only 17 but The Beatles breaking up sucked. It was all Yoko Ono's fault.

The beegees. :(
But seriously, the worst in recent years would probably be Jane's Addiction.
Oh, and of course, the Smashing Pumpkins.

the smashing pumpkins---may 23 2000 was one of the worst days of my life (and december 2 2000) that whole year sucked for me. especially after darcy went to rehab and disapeared, im glad that the others did well though... guitarist james iha is in APC, drummer jimmy chamberlin started the jimmy chamberlin complex, and billy corgan is on some solo thingy...still cant forget the pumpkins though :bang:  :bang:

Well, part of it is her fault. But you know, they started collapsing when Epstein died. Then they had Apple, and they were in a complete financial mess. Then came Allen Klein, who took their money also. Everybody voting for him instead of Lee Eastman, who was Paul's choice, also raised the tension.
With Phil Spector producing Let It Be instead of George Martin made Paul angry at John, who supported Spector. Spector added strings to "The Long and Winding Road", which had crossed Paul's mind, but decided it would be too corny.
After Yoko Ono came into the band, Paul became equally obsessed with Linda Eastman, bringing her into the studios as well.
Paul also tok charge of the band by ordering everybody around, which nobody enjoyed.
So you really can't blame everything on Yoko, but she's a great scapegoat who is hungry for money in her ex-husband's name.

Yeah, I think that too, because they were going way to be the greatest band in rock.
Sure Axl was an asswipe, but his stage presence and voice is just so much better than Weiland's. That is about the only band that I am upset quit in my lifetime. Well, now Van Halen probably.
That's right, Axl knew how to act on stage, even when he is so damn cocky.

Yeah, The Beatles was huge split..I wonder if girls commited suicide over that..
Nirvana wasn't really a split, but anyone who was in that band is dubbed with the "the dude that was in Nirvana" curse when they were in different bands afterwards. That just wouldn't be fun.

That's where you're story isn't completely right. Velvet Revolver is GNR with Scott Weiland singing. There's no other STP members.
