Pearl is beatable!!

If you are still having trouble winning in the pearl game, the is the trick. ITs no easy trick and it requires some knowledge of Binary but here goes.

The way the game was made was for the computer to make the total of each "level" even. the games has 4 "levels." the first (when you start) hase 3, then 4, then 5, then the last is 6. if you put the numbers into Binary, 3=011, 4=100, 5=101, and 6=110. if you line up the numbers as they are in the game (011 on top and 110 on bottom) you add up the colmuns. so you have,

011
100
101
110
-----
322

the 322 is the total of each colmun. you want to make the bottom numbers even, so you have to change the 3 to a 2 without changing the otehr numbers. that is done by making the last row (110) into 2 pearls. (2=010). and you continue through out the game untill the computer loses and you smile cause you won.

As in Pearls Before Swine 1, the gypsy guy's moves are basically hardcoded which makes the game retardedly easy if you've played for awhile. Have him go first, and keep reloading and having him go first until his first move is 3 pearls from the 3rd row (denoted from here as <column>:<pearls>; if he took 2 from the 4th row it would be 4:2). Assuming he goes first and his move is 3:3, the progression would be like this...

3:3 (him)
1:3 (you)
3:1
4:1
4:2
2:2
2:1
4:2
2:1
3:1 you win!:D

Without going into the math analysis-- the game is easy to win once you recognize there are several winning patterns and you can win EVERY time if you start first. *provided the game does not "cheat" and skip a turn*

The only real opening move is to take four pearls from the bottom row-- this leaves a "winning" combination of 3,4,5,2 ,--- numbers representing actual number of pearls left in each row.

Depending on what the game counters with-- here are your next "winning patterns"

1,4,5

1,2,3

4,4

3,3

2,2

1,1,1

Forcing the opponent into any of these combinations means a win

then he takes 4 from the row with 5 pearls,
then i take all 4 pearls from the row with 4 pearls.
then the *$#@@# cheats and skips his turn.

To beat this game all you have to do is open 2 internetn exlpores and have 2 pearl games going on at the same time, then on one of the games let him go first and on the other you go first and follow his exact every move, and in the end the one you went first on will win and the one the he went first on he will win. But at least you won, so it is very easy when you know how to do it.

Ok all these complicated explanations are a waist of time.He has many plays but he always does them in the same order.Just tell him to make the first move and then start a new game and you make that move and not his move.REFRESH so that he does the same thing, let him make his first move, do the same thing he did to respond to it, and see what he does to counter that and so on until you see how he beats you.Then simply play the game in reverse. Thats it just note exactly what he would do then you make the first move instead of him.

There's nothing wrong with him posting in an old thread if he has something to say. There are a lot of old threads about the pearl game, and some people sign up just to say something about it.

It's bumping an old thread with nothing to add, like "lol" or "hahaha" that is the problem.
