WTF
Rancid was just on MTV singing a "pop-esqe" song. And get this, in the video they dress like the asses from good charleotte, do-rag under oddly cocked hats.
If that wasnt bad enough, they have cameos in the video from good charleotte, and kelly osbourne-there may have been others but i was throwing up at the time.
So will rancid's next album cost $20 and have a bunch of guest stars?
Will they bring NOFX down with them?
When will they decide to take a break and pursue "solo" projects?
Is anyone else concerned that Christian Bale will play the next batman? (sorry ADD)
Will i ever be able to buy a punk-o-rama CD without feeling guilty?
Who will stop MTV?

another terrible thing has happened in the world of music. iron maiden made a new CD. im afraid to listen because it might ruin one of the greatest bands ever.

Good Charleotte? Kelly fucking Osbourne? Holy fuck, is nothing sacred anymore? Does the MTV virus of shittyness have to infect everything? I thought that at least Rancid would be immune. Very disappointing. As for the new Batman: Who cares? I couldn't give a fuck if Richard Simmons is going to play him. The entire series sucked. I've always been amazed at the amount of hype generated by these shitty movies.

Qoute from my friend when i told him about Christian Bale as batman
"At least it wont be Ashton Kutcher"
And droog, if you want to know about my fascination of batman read Frank Miller's batman, Tim Burton's batman was loosly based on Miller's, the next movie is the Movie version of Miller's Batman :year one. Its the story of Bruce Wayne as he BECOMES batman, its something different, not the retarted criminal strikes, batman strikes back story.
And how old is Iron Maiden? Havent they seen what happens to "reunion tours" Didnt KISS teach them anything?

I never really listened to them, so I don't really care.
but anyway, you can't make a band that doesn't get media coverage and be successful.(as in, having a house, a car, a family, ect..ect...)
it's being overdone though.
very, very overdone.
I'm gonna go listen to some turbonegro now.
thats some weird shite right there.

yea it was miller. its not his best work, basically he signed a deal with DC to write Dark Night returns and ONE other book, so he banged out Year one to fulfill his contract.

i have a question for anyone, and no one in paticular (because i dont know your ages). was music bad in the 60's, 70's and 80's? i listen to a lot of great classic rock and to me it seems like the 70's in paticular was a great decade for music, am i wrong? am i just listening to the good stuff and not the bad, or was most of the music truly good?

Music is cyclic, its always "pop" music, we laugh at justin and avril now, but they will be on the radio many years from now, they will still suck, but they will be considered "classic" Its very odd, but Led Zepplin's "4" is still a very good selling record, for a few reasons, its an excellent record, its nostalgiac for anyone who was 16-20 during that year, and its one of the best make-out records ever (a gold star goes to who can name that movie)
I like older music, there isnt much i like from the past (hell ill say it) 13 years. And thank you very much Matt, i downloaded Miles Davis "so what" last week, i love it, is there a non-live version? the one i got sounds like crap.
You are correct tho, on the radio you hear only the good stuff, and for every good song they play there were 5 crappy songs that year, exept for the 80's who embraced the one hit wonders.
And yes Audioslave does suck much ass

Your welcome, fortunantly a good friend of mine mentioned it one time and i got interested. i have a non-live version (or at least it sounds that way) and its fantastic. i just searched on Kazaa for the "Kind of Blue" cd and downloaded all its songs. Good luck.

i almost had a heart attack when i heard that darren malakian of system of a down signed satyricon to his label. he doesn't deserve the signature of any one of the guys from that band on a piece of paper that'll sell their souls into a world of commercial, dumb downed quasi-music

It's not really mtv's fault. It's Rancid's own fault that they sold out.

actually im quite glad mtv is around.... it keeps the people that like that kind of music happy you dont see them bitching about how much they play britney spears. And plus we always have Launch.com to watch the video we want to watch, and then theres always good old fuse....with the exception when they play shitty stuff like rancid, good charlotte, and shit like that

its just like when metalica was on mtv, and everyone was paying homage to them. But instead of cool people, it was shit heads like limp bizkit and Avirl. when i saw it i was like wtf. I was also mortified that trujillo was with the band like he was actually one of them. hes just a leach basking in the glory of others (Jerry cantrel and BLS). Then the new album came out. what a piece a crap. no solos, because apparently the band thought it would be a funny joke to take kurts solos off the tracks. Fuckin douchebags. after all this shit about napster and making money. my bro got that cd the first day it came out. he did it the right way, he didn't rip the cd. now everybodys like aww you get you're Tallica tickets, i heard kurts gonna play his solos there. !!! So now i have to dispence more money to fund the fading alcohol-less band. Oh how the mighty have fallen. the shoulda ended at the black album and bowed out gracefully

Fuse is just as bad as MTV2 (since mtv doesnt play anything related to music).
lameassdude
07-29-2004, 03:01 PM
Fuse isnt AS bad as mtv2 because mtv2 plays shows about "the social history of hair", and shit like that. but theres no doubt in my mind eventually it i will turn into something like mtv2 or mtv
