Actually you know whats funny, pat. I was looking for your thread about the seafoam so i could do it on my truck because i remember reading it long ago and it inspired me to give it a try, but to no luck i couldn't find it so i searched another web site for help. So to conclude, your post is what inspired me to give it a try tonight.

just to let yous know doing this can actually decrease engine performace

let me explain

over time your cylinders become scored from the piston moving and scatching the surface of the cylinder
these scores end up being filled in by carbon deposits
then when you put this stuff in it removes the carbon resulting in a loss of compression

a newish engine should be ok but if your engine is old then you could lose alot of compresion

Correct, carbon ontop of the pistons and in the combustion chamber on the heads and on the valves increases compression.

It's not a well known fact, and often over looked. Too many people think a clean engine is a good engine. When I do rebuilds, I rarely clean the piston tops. Nice to see someone knows some of the trade secrets.

Me and my friend were going to use it on his car until we google it and found that it did take away some compression.
