I was thinking about getting some new earphones for my ipod and possibly some kind of skin to protect it from scratches. Anyone have any idea which kinds are good or what else I could consider getting? Thaanks.

Iskin (http://www.iskin.com) is a favorite, I havve the black one. For headphones, I'm still looking for some for myself, so I'll have to get back to you on that one.

I agree with whoever said iSkin. I've got a blue one.
As for the earphones, it's a good idea to get some that are not white, because iPod thefts are becoming more common than mobile thefts (at least in France), and when people see you with white earphones, they know you have an iPod and they'll try and steal it. Then it's your choice for the earphones, there aren't really any big differences, use the ones you used for your discman or whatever you had before getting an iPod.

What type/style of earphones are you looking for? And I suggest you get that Iskin, they are the best.

I'm looking for the kind of earphones that go in your ears and not over your head. Kind of like the stock 'phones but not as crappy. I was considering getting the Shure E3s but once I saw how much they costed I changed my mind. ($180)
Why is iSkin so good? I heard that you still get scratches whether or not you have a case and that if you get iSkin it collects a lot of dust and you need to put baby powder on it and all this crap..
D'you guys know if this is good or not?

i think those like neat, but you can't use the ipod while it's in there. still cool, they give you one of each colors too.

I got a plastic case for my Ipod from speck, it also doubles as a stand. It;s the best bang for your buck in mu opinion, seeing as how you never need tot ake it out fo the case. It also comes with a cushion in the back so it protects your Ipod. I've dropped mine on a cement floor a couple times and the case protected it perfectly.

Hammered, is that speck thing pretty bulky? What are the bad things about it?

Well, it isn't much bulkier, but it really does help keep your ipod safe. The only disadvantage that I can see is that the outside of the case may get a lil dusty, along with the inside. But thats not a real problem. There's a little plastic cap that goes over the scroll wheel, that you can fold it back and use it for a stand. It really is a good product.
