Which version of Wavelab are you using? Does this look familiar?

Hmmm seems strange that a high end product like that wouldn't give the option of importing mp3s. Perhaps that's a restiction from the demo that wasn't crackable.

Best thing to is to get hold of a freeware app like this: http://www.americanshareware.com/download.html which will convert all your mp3s to wav format so they can be used in Wavelab. Not ideal but perfectly workable. Hope that's of some use :)

I can get mp3's and edit them but it will not let me use my films so i can get audio clips from them. Do you know how to do that?

Cheers for the help anyway

Okay, so you have a bunch of movies in avi, mpeg etc. format and you want to import those files into Wavelab so that the picture and sound are broken down into 2 separate sections?

My audio editor of choice is actually Soundforge, rather than Wavelab. I know it can be done in Soundforge so I guess it should be possible in Wavelab. Try looking in the help files, or if there are none try starting at the Steinberg website, checking out their forums and going from there.

Alternatively since you've just started using Wavelab you could just try downloading Soundforge and using that instead.

Or burn your movies to VCD/DVD, play them in your standalone DVD player, connect the player to your soundcard and use Wavelab to record the parts you need.
