Is the downfall for our youth. I never really watch this station ever since it went from playing mostly music videos to playing hardly any but I caught some TRL the other day. Man its unbelievable that they have 14 year old girls requesting a song named "magic stick". Its a real shame they make the biggest pieces of shits into teen idols

MTV is in the business of selling sex to children. I'm sure that you saw the Britney Spears/ Madonna lesbian action during the music video awards. Who do they think Britney's fans are? They know goddamn well that most of their audience is children. How would you like to have been a parent when your 8 year old daughter asked you "Why is Britney kissing that old lady?" They teach boys that to be cool they should act like an illterate drug dealing "gangstas" like 50 Cent and they teach girls they can get whatever they want by being whores. The worst part is that they've single handedly ruined the music industry. If you're a talented musician but don't have an image that will appeal to the children who watch TRL, good fucking luck getting a record label to sign you.

The sad thing is when this contraversy happened MTV put Ludacris on TRL and backs him up on the issue saying O'reilly's a racist, Cmon now.

I stopped watching MTV the day the Spice Girls debuted.

Ever since then it's been pseudo "art". I didn't like him at first, but now I do wish 50 Cent would have died when he was shot dealing drugs. No...he survived and becomes a millionaire singing redundant crap about how bad ass he is. I'm so sick of the music...if you can call it that...that is being released today. MTV is the main reason all of the mainstream music is clueless teenage pop stars or "badass" rap artists.

Eminem was fun at first...but now it's just bad. It's pretty easy to when MTV pays homage to people like Eminem and Britney Spears as being musical cornerstones...instead of the obvious artists who deserve to have specials on TV.

For me personally, it's hard to like someone who doesn't play an instrument and barely write their own songs. By that I mean Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, T.A.T.U., and about 80% of the other superstars of today.

Why is music in such a crappy state? MTV.

MTV is no longer music television...maybe at 3 in the morning...but for the most part, it's shows like "I'm a co-ed stuck in Seattle with 4 guys...Get me outta here!" aka The Real World or "OH MAY GAWD! IT'S THE SCREAM TILL YOUR EYES EXPLODE SHOW! AHHHHHH!" aka TRL. Sex, people that call themselves artists, and more sex. And it's all to the 8 - 14 year old demographic. Priceless.

Yeah MTV is a pile of crap, I really hate to watch it but when flipping through the channels I get distracted by Jessica Simpsons delicious boobies..... but these teen idol types are getting worse and set bad examples for our youth.

this is one of the few posts I can remember that everyone agrees in. I guess that's because most of this part of the forum have at least a little intelligence. (despite their crazy political views)

as much as i hate mtv, i do watch one show, and that is the almighty headbangers ball. since i am into metal i love the show because it plays the music i like, although they occasionally try to stick some shit down your throat like linkin park and evenescence( i really dont car how the fuck its spelled) but for the most part, that show is cool. as for the rest of the mtv world, i hate it, everything, from trl ***shudders*** to the "real" world.

You see, the music is crap. So, they say, how do we maintain a good level of viewers? Lets show lots of barely clothed women to attract teens, who will then think whoever made the video, gets chicks, and then they start buying their music, and think they're now cool. So, It's not a cycle, but a chain, calling something music that isnt, putting violating images of soft core into music videos where it doesnt belong, and making kids think its good. Well, thats pretty bad, seeing most teens think they're their favorite rapper and go out and by ecko jeans and wear their clothes funny... The worst part is how much money this churns out for the celebrities and guys in the MTV department, and how much money gets wasted by the kids on the bottom compared to celebs from the total inbalance of our society's economy. No wonder things like Napster were here to help out, but then The music biz decides they just ain't got enough money for each of them to own 10 BMWs, only 8 or 9, because people are leeching their crapoy music.

i watch MTV2 because of Headbanger's Ball, and Extreme Rock when it was still on. Headbanger's Ball (the new episodes) was cool for a while. i hate having to sit through fucking Korn, Sevendust, Adema , and all that other shit just to see the new Superjoint Ritual video or some older video that kicks ass. i'm just gona give up on that shit. they play all that mainstreem quasi-metal all day long, but when we get our small amount of time to see the new Decapitated video or an old Kreator video, we have to sit through all that shit.

MTV blows. All their shows suck. They play crappy music like rap and poseur rock. They decide all the stupid trends - like Good Charlotte and that crap. Their shows suck. All the Real World is about is a couple of young adults always bitching and crying about something stupid like anybody cares. Each season is the same except at a different location and a new cast of characters. TRL sucks because they usually just play the most popular video's for 50 straight days and they suck.

i was debating if i should post my opinion becasue its the opposite of what you all thinkbut i will anyways! i've always watched MTV... at least once a day... there are video marathon's and all they play are videos.. music that i enjoy and love to listen to. i like all the shows, their may be more of them then in the past but every channell goes through changes. i know lots of people that don't care to watch mtv.. and they are the ones who miss out on the culture of this generation.i do agree how ever that parents shouldn't let younger children to watch some of the shows.. but that's why they're on later at night. I like rapp i like hip hop i like rock i like whatever! the video's they don't play aren't "appropriate" anyways. they could show more music.. but they're porbably scared ratings will go down.. who wants to sit through 100 video's all day? they never show nudity.. more like bathing suit's and such so thats y i like it. i enjoy it just the wayy it is!
