Do you listen to bands if they sing in another language?

Edit: What? I hit update and three new topics just popped up!

2nd Edit: Oh they are being moved from E/N,

This is the first native poll at least.

it depends on what language, I would have to say, german sounds really harsh even when you don't sing it.

I voted no because usually the instruments alone can not entertain me enough, and i find songs in other languages to be annoying but i can see how people like them because they are kind of catchy.

If ebaum said no talk about Led Zeppelin, then would you follow that too? I dont think so. If you want to ban talking about something, choose something that is more worthy of a ban: like Marilyn Manson or Insane Clown Posse.

i like it when bands sing in another language, i think it gives the music that extra edge, especially when it comes to metal.
i love bands such as rammstien because german is such a brutal language that it accompanies the music perfectly.
the same goes for bands that i listen to that come from norway and scandinavia. like naglfar, death metal, i like it alot, especially while lifting. i dont really know what language naglfar speaks but it sounds kick ass and brutal as hell. i also think its cool when an english band embraces their roots, like sepultura. they sing in spanish some times, and it sounds so cool.

and it doesnt really matter if i can understand them, cause i just get the lyrics from a fan based site in the us and they do all the translation for you

german does sound very evil. one of the reasons i like rammstein is the evil sound of the guys voice.

http://www.herzeleid.com/en/lyrics

that site has rammstein lyrics in german and in english.

I personally cannot imagine listening to music for the lyrics alone. Music is supposed to be pleasing to the ears, so if you focus on lyrics alone, the song itself could sound like shit. This is why i dont understand the concept of rap. music is a universal language, and japanese rap wouldn't go well over in the US, meaning that rap is technically not music, but it still classifies as music according to popular beleif, so i guess language does matter in a sense, but i like music for the way that is sounds, so Ill stick with my crazy norweigen and german metal.
