I'm talking the bands that no matter who you are you will listen to and enjoy in high school. the classics, don't say you listened to Trio in high school (twenty bucks to whoever knows that band) or some random band. The bands that everyone knows because of their connection to them in high school: Add on to this list:

I think I was pretty much the only one who listened to classic rock in my circle of friends in high school, but I still like some modern music.

1. Bad Company or Free (Paul Rogers owns)
2. Eagles (Rocky Mountain Way is good to blast pulling out the parking lot)
3. Pearl Jam (old PJ is better)
4. Nirvana (Is there anyone who doesn't own a copy of "Nevermind")

Smashing Pumpkins, All the classic 70s rock, CCR, Hole, Phish (They suck but everyone loves them at my school), Van Halen, AC/DC, Greatful Dead...Iron Maiden, old skool Metallica, Bad Religion, Eric Clapton....can't think of any more...I like old school blink 182 though which I have listened to thru all of highschool.
