You have nothing on Arizona's Salim Stoudamire. I can't believe what I just witnessed in the game right now. 20 points first half for Salim alone, halftime right now. A couple of these shots are 5-10ft away from the 3-point line. Shooting about 65.3% for the year. Unbelieveable. Man, west coast gets no love.

No one great, Oregon state. Still to see Stoudamire 6/8 in the first half against anyone is impressive. Hope he can keep this streak up in the 2nd half.

This thread takes me back to the '95-96 season, when my UK Wildcats, who won their 6th championship that season, scored 86 points in the first half against LSU.

That, my friends, was a performance.

I'm not even gonna justify that with a response...

Heh...Jk...

Yea, thats quite a performance there, J.J.'s even being outshot at the free throw line by Maryland's Chris McCray, even though McCray hasn't had nearly as many attempts as J.J.

But you have to realize...J.J. is still leading the ACC in scoring, AND minutes played...he's a horse fellas

In my opinion, when JJ is on his game he is easily the best shooter in college basketball. Did any of you read that article in Sports Illustrated? The Michigan State basketball coach, Tom Izzo, said that he can take a legitimate shot from half-court. Salim Stoudamire is easily the better all around player, all Redick really does is come off of the screen and take threes. He hasn't even shot those exceptionally well this year, he's just a little above average.

Yeah, I was watching some stuff on Stoudamire one ESPN today, and I noticed how far away most of his shots are. This kid is great, hopefully he'll make the transition to the pros in due time.

How about Gerry Mcnamara? That kid is pretty crazy from beyond the arc, he might be better than Reddick (IMO).

JJ has been pushed into a new position this year on the team. He could easily play just as well as Stoudamire at all points if that was his job. Krzyzewski has been weening a few players this year to become key roles next year. DeMarcus Nelson could easily be the best point guard in the ACC next year. And Sheldon "Landlord" Williams could put a total lockdown on all of the big ACC teams the year he "retires". JJ has the skills, he's just not in the position to assert them like Salim does.

38 points...9/15 FG...6/10 3PT...14/15 FT...2 Steals...40 minutes...

^^Career High

I think he just proved my point...

Good Game JJ...

Yep, 86 points in the first half, they finished with like 126 or so, they didn't want to embarass the Bayou Bengals too bad.

I wish they would've let Salim play longer. He ended the game with 31, but soon as he hit the 9 3's and broke the team record they sat him for the rest of the game with like 9-10 minutes left. Oh well, yea I saw JJ was putting up quite the performance today too, nice. Salim's a senior it's gonna be a pain to see him leave, but hopefully make some solid numbers in the pros.

Wow. I'm a little too young to remember that even though I probably watched that game as I was on the Wildcats bandwagon back then. I don't get why coaches hold back like that at the end of full on ass-kickings. If I was a football or basketball coach I would fucking stick it to the other team, sportsmanship be damned.

Nahh. Even the most optimistic and diehard Duke fan like myself wouldn't say this years team is final four calibur. They can't get that far when J.J. carries the ENTIRE fucking team on his back for 30 games.

I'm hoping for a nice elite 8 showing...against my own will I still say UNC for the title...against Kentucky.

Peace out I'm celebrating our win tonight!

As a Kentucky fan, I'd like to see Kentucky in the final game, but their Freshmen are still playing like freshmen right now. Rondo and Morris are progressing though, so that's nice. If UK doesn't make the Final Four this year, bank on them making it next year.
