Video converter

Before I even try to help, why in the world would you want to convert avi to mpg?

Well..avi videos do not work in movie maker....i need to convert it to something that does.

Is there any other formats that you can edit on Movie Maker? I can't seem to find an avi to mpg converter. You could try using Window Media Encoder (free) to convert the avi into wmv, the wmv will be editable in Movie Maker.
