Important Questions about prank calls

Hey I just got a name here but I have been reading these boards for a long time. I like to prank call people but have questions about it. When someone says they are reporting you to the police, can they really if you blocked your number? Even If I was reported...what will happen?? :confused: That is all I want, cops at my house. :banghead: Also if there are any other things that people say but can happen like reportin it or something..please tell me about these threats and if they are real or not.

Don't worry, as long as you don't constantly keep calling them, or threaten them (kill, rape, assault, etc.), or mention anything illegal (bank robbery, murder, etc.), you have NOTHING to worry about. DO NOT call serious places (like hospitals, police station, the nuclear comission, The Pentagon, etc.), then you will be brought down...

Don't prank toll-free numbers or suicide/drug/runaway hotlines. They trace your number before they even pick up whether you blocked it or not.
Worst case scenario for being caught : a small fine and/or community service.
I'm not sure about your state, but in mine phone recordings are not admissable as evidence in court if anyone involved was not aware they were being recorded. What does that mean? Basically, it means they have no evidence they can use against you except if they traced your number. Plus, even if they DID trace your number, they'd have to trace it 3 times within a short period of time to prove any kind of harassment.
So stop being a pussy and get pranking.

Pretty much agree with everything that's been said.

Don't do anything stupid and you'll be fine. It's not illegal to use the phone afterall is it?

Also - it's worth remembering you can get away with a lot more risky sort of stuff on incoming calls - certainly more swearing etc.

Also if you really want to play it safer than safe then phone up people who totally deserve it. For example - telemarketers aren't going to report you for much - they basically go round harassing people anyway. Similarly - someone selling timeshares or involved in some other dubious business/scam isn't going to want the police involved in anything they do, so calling them is basically 100% risk free as well.

Many of the best pranks out there involve being extremely polite anyway. E.g. Arnold saying "how are you" or "nice to meet you" or leslie Nielsen inviting someone out for dinner. Even the biggest dumbass person in the world can't take offence at that and twist it to pretend it's somehow illegal.

One other thing - MAKE SURE YOU RECORD THE CALLS AND SHARE THEM WITH US HERE! :D :D

what is a good cheap recorder for recording them because I do so many good ones that I wish I couyld share but I have no recorder..Also what stores sell it.

i just use the mic built into my computer lol and a speakerphone so can't help u there. You can't get good results with fairly average equipment as long as u have all the vloumes and ditances correct.
