Well, I live near Philly and I was watching a local TV sports show and apparently Chris Webber gave Andre Iguodala a $100,000 watch for his jersey number. I don't know, but I think that is a little uh, cant find words for it, uh, a little stupid? I could see if Webber is superstitious but $100,000!!! Are you CRAZY? Most people don't even make that much in a year...

You dont understand that this money is like 100 bucks to us. sure its a stupid reason to waste it all. but he'll make ita ll back the next game

exactly, webber is going to make 60 million over the next 3 years, whats 100,000 to him. Only player that couldnt afford to do that is sprewell cause he spends all his millions feeding his family :rolleyes:

That was pretty excessive. He should have been like Jeremiah Trotter of the Eagles, who washed Nate Wayne's car to get his number (54) back.

Thats because Trotter is a ho, and Wayne is a cheap pimp, he knew thats the best he could get. We also know that Trotter gave a some ben and jerry's to get it too.


Its kinda excessive but history remembers many of the numbers, like shaq, kobe, mj, walter payton, reggie, etc.

If I had that much money I'd do it.

My football coach lost the #73 jersey or it got stolen or something like that (really in all the numbers out of 99, who would take 73???)

That made me pretty mad.

lol thats funny, because I heard antoine walker might do that too, when he was on the celtics his number was 8, on the mavericks his number was 8, the hawks his number was 8, the only problem is big al jefferson has the number 8, walker has 88 right now and wants his number back. Walker will pay big bucks, he had that number his whole career.

lol i dont know, celtics drafted him this year from high school he went to school in mississippi, he is a big man, 6'10 265 pounds, this kid is already good and he is a year older than me, 19 years old. lol is that what u want?

For every football/ soccer team I have ever played for I have been #4, one time though I had to be #14 bcoz they already had a number 4 so they gave me a shirt with a 4 on it..... Bastards, I wanted to challenge him to a duel for the shirt.
I know what # you are isnt realy all that important but 4 is my number and I dont know whether its just stupid superstition but I dont feel like half the player if Im not #4.

ive had 27 my whole life for every sport (except soccer, i wore 7 because 27 was too unproffesional). I even got my coach to let me wear it in football (my primary position was te so i would have to pick an 80 number but instead i just told my coach to pretend my position was safety, i play safety just not as often or as good as te). I would hate to go on a team and find out my jersey is taken. Its just a comfort thing, I feel only comfortable in 27.
