the pats have now released troy brown im a pats fan but just feel this is a really low class of sportsmanship first law i understood then phipher it was ok but now the 12 year vet who has contributed so much to the pats.this is the lowest thing i've ever seen done by any nfl orginization.

Unlike baseball and basketball theres a salary cap in football, yes I know there is in basketball but it's a soft cap.... So owners and players don't need to be loyal to teams.. AKA Carlos Boozer........

Its a conspiracy. Troy Brown and Bill Bellicheck (sp?) do not get along. That is why he got let go.

they might still resign him. They had no choice, they tried renogiating but nothing happened. His salary wouldve hit them pretty hard.

And let this be a lesson to you all, never go within 30 miles of a Mormon
Ya it looks like the Pats dynasty is slowly dismantiling.

That's the name of the game. Look at what San Francisco did with Joe Montana and what Dallas did with Emmit Smith.
EDIT: By the way, sportsmanship is not 2 words. Please use some punctuation or I will have to get Devastion on your ass.

They still have a lot of newer talent but with the veterans leaving, I don't think they will win the AFC champs next season. However, I won't be surprised if they do.

Hell, I thought they had no chance last year, and look what happened. Unfortunately, even though we're all thinking they're falling apart, they will likely repeat or at least come close.

too see them offering Brown vet minimum, although BB might be taking an even tougher stance then me this year. Not too sure any other teams offer Brown a spot. Everyone is trying to get younger. Rice is out there and he can't find a job.
Guy can still play in certain situations, just tough to bench one of the young guys who need to be out there in those same situations

When did they release Brown?? Damn, this sis going to the tank. You kanow what wins championships. Experience, thats that the Pats had, thats what the Cowboys had, thats what the Bulls had, and they all threw it all away. Sad, I say that if they had enough room in the cap last yeat, the have to have enough this year.

Don't count them down yet guys. Everyone was saying how Peyton Manning and the Colts would come in there and destroy them without their 2 best cornerbacks. How many points did that "second string" defense hold one of the best offenses ever to? Three points. I didn't even think that was possible.

There is a reason why Dynasty's do not last or do not come about and why teams can not Three-peat, And it's called Salary caps my friends, and the pats have a bad case of it. They were 26 million over the cap before releasing Ty Law and Troy Brown, and they barley have money now, they are just under the cap now. Expect more cut's,Trades, and or pay cuts. The pats only have 6.45 mill to spend or should i say keep, and that aint much to work with.2005 NFL Team Salary Cap (http://www.askthecommish.com/salarycap/numbers.asp)

christophizzle, you should be ashamed of yourself. Bastardizing the word "sportmanship" and making it "sportman ship," which would literally mean a ship for sportsmen.
If the Punctuation Buddies weren't busy making Episode IV, why, I'm sure they'd let you have it.
Peace out,

so what the pats already made their mark, packers were the 60s, steelers 70s, 49ers 80s, cowboys 90s, now unless the ravens or the bucs win the next 3 superbowls patriots will own this decade

I found out how much he wanted it was more than I thought 5mil he should've taken a pay cut he isn't really worth that much but I still think they should've kept him.

Troy Brown was the ultimate Patriot. As such, he understands what just happened to him. I think all pats fan will tell you that it was only a matter of time. Either he agreed to restructure, or he was gone. There was no way he was going to be paid $5 million this year.
Don't get me wrong, I love Troy Brown. He is what a Patriot player is. He, Tom Brady, Tedy Bruschi - get better soon, Tedy! - Rodney Harrison, are all guys who get it. Add Mike Vrabel to that list as well, for that matter. And Geno Wilson. Not to mention Adam Vinatieri. And guys like Bobby Hamilton, Anthony Pleasant, Christian Fauria, they all get it. And when they don't they find their ass shipped to Dallas by way of GB - Hey there, Terry Glenn, how is she doing today? - or to the Bills - Drew, Milloy, and maybe even Ty Law one of these days.
That's why this team will win the SB this year again. The Squealers look good on paper, but not on the field when it counts. So do the Eagles and the Dolts. That's the bottom line. The game is played where it counts: on the field. Love them or hate them, you can't fight the numbers that the Pats have put together in the past four years. Simple as that.
The PATS (www.patriotsweekly.com) will be champs again and will take 4 out of 5 years. It's not just a dynasty. It's their destiny. Deal with it.

... and I am so happy for him. This guy played through pain and hurt, when he probably should not have been playing. He never complained. He played for the minium most of the time. He did fantastic charity work in the Boston area the whole time he was here. I am psyched he got his payday. He deserves it. Andruzzi, thank you for being what a Pats player should always be. You go make your millions and never sniff another ring, but hey, you already have three, so now was the time to go out and take care of your family. More power to you. A great Patriot Player, ladies and gentlemen. It would be appropriate to clap now.

Patten is gone to the Redskins because their moronic owner still does not understand that this is real money he is throwing around, not monopoly money. Good for Patten, he was not worth that much to the Pats and I am happy they didn't plunk down all that dough for him.
