i thoght i might tell you guys about the fairy tale season my favorite football team is having (dare i say it soccer team)

wether or not you like football(soccer) dosent really matter as you should be able to appreciate the story or relate it to somthing else

i will set the sceane

my team is called Everton
we are 1 of the oldest, bigest and most sucsessful teams in the country
but in the last 10 years or so we have lost our greatness and lived in the shadow of our closest rivels Liverpool who come from the same city
Liverpool are also not what they once were as they havent won the league for over 10 yeas but they have consistantly been in the top 5 for many years

dont worry i am not going to keep talking about the past i will get on with the fairytale

in the pre season everton were in sever financial trouble £30m+ in debt
a very small squad of 18 pro players and no 1 wanting to sign for us
(you need about 25 pro players in the english premier league)
the press were saying that everton had no chance of surviving another season in the league and that it would be the end of our 50+ year run in the top flight
and then to top it all off our so called savior, the english pele he is of course wayne rooney
the boy how we had nurtured since he was 11
the boy who sported a shirt with once a blue always a blue on it ( as a jibe at another boyhood blue who turend his back on us)
decided he wanted to leave to join a club (MAN UTD) that we hate even more than we do our rivals liverpool.
we also lost another star by the name of tomaz radsinski

so we are now a squad of 16 players the debts been cut (but we still cant sign any 1 as we have to pay of the rest of the debt) and we have lost the best 18 year old player in the world for less than half of his value ( we got £20m he is worth £50m)

things couldnt get any worse
but then they did we had to play arsenal the undifeted in 40+ games champions
we lost 4-0

every evertonian must have been feeling the way i was
ther was no way we were going to make it another year in the top flight

but things didnt carry on that way

we won the next game and then the next and the next

we kept on winning

1/4 of the way through the season we are 3rd place just a couple of points behind the champions arsenal and the russian billionaires chelsea.
the press keep saying the wheels are going to come off soon everton arnt good enuff to be this hih up

what was going on this small team of 16 players is 3rd in the league surly this will end soon and we will slide down the table

but it didnt stop
1/2 throgh the season we have now slipd to 4th as Man UTD have caught us up with the help of our once star player wyane rooney
but we are still in the quilifying places for the champions league and if we finnish in 4th all our money troubles will be a thing of the past

3/4 we are still 4th 5 points clear of liverpool
we have lost another of our star players thomas gravison to real madrid
but we have now managed to bring in 2 quality players as replacement for the 8+ pros that we lost at the start of the season
we also managed to beat our rivals liverpool

ther is less than 1/4 of the season left we had a blip and droped some points as we ajusted to the loss of thomas gravison
but liverpool also droped points and we are now 8 points clear

i have to pinch myself evry day to check am not dreaming
our fate is in our hands if we can win a few more games our money problems will be over and we will be playing in the biggist and best club tourniment in the world

the end

this fairytale story was writen by david moyes and the players of EVERTON F.C.

i would just like to say about the wayne rooney bit of him being work £50m is a very big exaggeration. wayne rooney is a quality player but he isnt as gd as many people make out he is. lots of people say he is the best player in the world right now he isnt even the best striker in britian, henry and van the man r better then rooney. there r also better players than him in britian in diff positions

if the wayne rooney saga was handled difrently he would have cost alot more than £20m

the clubs min value was placed at £50m thats the bottom price that we would have considerd and proberly rejected

you are right that he isnt the best stiker in britain henry is but then henry is 26-27 rooney is 19

if drogba was worth £24m
and beckham £23m
then rooney must be worth more than them

am not botherd about him anymore so it dosent really matter

Ganster, stup your pie hole. ;)

Rooney was your saviour, without the 50 mil from United you would have continued to struggle financially for years to come. Loans and debt up to your neck, 50 big fat bitches from United helped pay off those debts leaving more income for the club to keep.

It isnt 50 mill just yet but after clauses are sealed, it will rack in at just under 50. Is he worth it ? .......... NO.

I am a big United fan and was very disappointed that they wasted, yes ... wasted that much whilst our midfield continues to get old. Beside the fact we just shelled out quite abit for Saha and Smith. 50 million could have bought us 3 top class players.

Rooney is a big game player (although he didnt seem to show face against AC Milan tonight), he can turn a game in the blink of an eye. I remember Everton vs Arsenal and the almost hysteric cry from the commentator "Remember the name ......Wayne Rooney".

I was shocked at the sale of Radzinski, he was the real anchor of the team and his sale will be the reason you wont hold onto the champions league spot. Why in the hell Madrid wanted him is beyond me but what can I say ... they wanted Owen too. :p

All in all, Everton have been the team of the season, forget Chelsea and Mourinho, its easy when a Russian is linning your back packet with million pound checks......... Moyes is a great...... I would love to see the ginger bastard at United after Fergie. :D
