On tonights show a nobody named alfonso gomez sent peter madrone (or some shit like that) home, the latter is supposedly a really good fighter.

Mark Burnett is a freakin genius and since when isn't boxing mainstream? Najai Turpin (http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/02/21/tv.contender.suicide.ap/) is the boxer that commited suicide. The Contender (http://www.nbc.com/nbc/The_Contender/) - i thought this was going to be another cheesy reality show with a bunch of washed up toughman boxers but the talent pool is a little deeper than i expected.

Was the guy who lost last night was the one who killed himself?

no it was a black guy from philly

i dont think he killed himself because of the show though.

Boxing used to be mainstream, it has dropped horrendously ask the average joe to name 4 current fighters who are good, he willl be able to name maybe 4.

I cant understand why Najai commited suicided, especially after watching this episode. I know he lost, but after the loss in the locker room, he was running around so his kid would chase him, and he was smiling the whole time.

this was almost 6 months after the fact and it had nothing to do with the contender

yes it does because he got eliminated tonight, and its more like 1 month after the fact, and no need to argue over this.

what? the contender was filmed last summer, he killed himself on february 14th, thats 6 months. It was a dispute with his girlfriend.
