The Amerks are a AHL team from Rochester. They are the farm team of the Buffalo Sabres. The Amerks have been around forever and have been well respected in the hockey community. The fan support in Rochester is unbelievable, they crank out more attendance than some NHL teams.

"Amerks" is short for Americans. The offical team name is called the Rochester Americans -- Amerks for short.
