My friend talked about mark II way over a year ago. He was so excited about it and when he finally started using it, he stayed in his house all day. But my friend called me a couple days ago and told me that it's finally being implemented to a bunch of sites within the next 3 months.

I called Eastlink and they wont have it up here until the 21st. I already have the scent module and headset pre-ordered from futureshop. Turns out the $270 hookup fee doesnt include those two items, even though you basically need them to use mark II. I was almost certain mark II was still in prototype stages until mid August, oh well, the sooner the better.

Simply amazing... I saw it and immediately knew it was bullshit, however, they have made printers that work like inkjet printers that can print tastes out. They did this a couple of years ago but are still refining it. The "grid" as wired.com was mentioning is simply a vision of how cisco and other big players want the internet to be run in the future(way down the line). As for "mark II," no not real, but the Grid Forums were real and were held. Smellivision is really being produced. CNN and Wired.com don't waste their time with april fools pranks, they can get sued, and they especially aren't going to go posting anything on their servers because some guy from a web site built around bringing childish content to assinine teens/young adults asked them to. Wise up man, read the articles carefully before making the snap judgement.
Cisco has allready released a router fast enough that it could download the entire library of congress in 4.2 seconds(assuming there were a server that fast, which there isnt... it would take dial-up 82 years non-stop btw). Technology is getting better, Bill Gates at one point said computers would never need more than 32mb of memory... something to laugh at today. 20 years from now you might look back at T3 lines and laugh at how slow it was and how little could be done with the internet now(which is comparitive to the future of course). Last week we announced that we would be switching over to Internet Mark II. If you missed it you can read about it here. Well, this may be news to some of you BUT... APRIL FOOLS!!! LOLZ LOLZ

Surprisingly, more viewers than we had expected took the bait. Among the victims were teachers, students, IT pros, doctors, lawyers, etc. Below are a handful of responses that we found most amusing.

So when you upgrade to Internet Mark II does that mean i will not be able to do anything on your site at all unless i upgrade Internet Mark II? If so how expensive is the new update? Will i need a completely new computer? Is updating such a good idea anyway, seeing as you will most likely lose many people, i mean i know that that is an amazing upgrade and all but it does sound like a lot of work, time, and money, which not all of us have. Any way im just saying if i can no longer use your site i will be rather dissapointed.

To whom it may concern, I find that you changing to the coming technology is great but the people that visit your site have only one concern. If Comcast, the nations leading cable company doesn’t even know what I2 is, then how will we be able to access anything within the coming months. Either they are leaving everyone in the dark and will make the change automatically or they honestly have no idea what this new technology is. So if you have any information on what company is going to carry this new technology I would appreciate it. Me and a few friends have all contacted Comcast and asked them about it and the person on the phone, their supervisor and their management department said they had no idea what I was talking about. I sent them to this website and the article from wired magazine and they still had no clue.
