a. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000.
b. Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year is 120,000.
c. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171. (US Dept. of Health & Human Services)
Then Think about this:
a. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000.
b. The number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) is 1,500.
c. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188.
Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT
LEAST ONE DOCTOR.
Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand.
As a public health measure the statistics on lawyers have been

and yet another reason why I didn't go to medical school... :) actually, I was really turned off by handing over a HUGE portion of my paycheck to pay for malpractice insurance...blech...gimme an easy job that pays 6 figures any day of the week (I'm still looking for that job, btw...so, if you are offering...I'm qualified!!!)

That is a pretty scary thought......(what God said)...but if we didn't have death...the world would be over populated. So we can all just bite the bullet when we go see our doctors...and wonder if our number is up. By the way....I will own a gun soon.

woo hoo!
another american who knows their rights! we need more people who recognize the rights we are born into, so as not to have them removed behind our backs.....as bush once said, "There ought to be limits to freedom"...

Isn't that the most ridiculas thing you have ever heard......" that there should be limits to our freedom".........but I am still glad to live in America, despite all the political BS out there.

sure there should be limits to freedom. you wouldn't want anyone feeling he had a legally protected right to ass rape you, would you?

It's in the Bill of Rights (maybe you've heard of it) that we as citizens of the United States of America have the right to bear arms...which for our slower members means that an old ass piece of paper says that it is okay for us to own guns.

now, if and when the day comes that ass raping becomes in unalienable right granted us by the Constitution and said Bill of Rights...my ass is on the next flight to a non-ass raping country to live.

It is also important to understand that the constitution only intended us the right to own weapons for the purpose of the protection of ourselves, our homes, our children, etc. It is sad that so many abuse this priviledge... Indeed, I must say that SOMETHING must be done to protect innocent, law-abiding citizens from people who misuse the weapons they own... Not to say that we should take away the right to buy, own or use all guns... Because only innocent, law-abiding citizens would comply, and criminals and others who use them improperly would overrun us because we are, in effect, defenseless--I say we should up the stakes--Criminals using guns to commit crimes should have much stiffer penalties. In Germany, it is not illegal to drive drunk, however, if you injur or kill someone in a car accident with alcohol in your system, the penalty is death.... Hmmm--there's a thought... Not too many people in Germany killed from alcohol-related car accidents, are there?

ok kiddies its time to bathe your minds of that shit you are talking about dont get me started on handgun

and back to the doctors stuff you are ranting about wow you are all so stupid.... ok just think about this how many people would die if we did not have doctors well my brother would have just about a year ago he got in a car crash and was bleeding out if the ear and guess what he was in I.C.U. for about a week because he had lost too much brain and inner ear fluide if it was not for the hospital he would have died and im sure all of you know some one at least one person who has had there life saved by a doctor and about how many know some on that has died because of a doctor

personaly i like my odds

and also as you where saying chris "limits to freedom" bush does not seem to have a problem with giving unlimited freedom to large companys do do what they want and here is some thing the "theif-in-cheif" did cut $35 million in funding for advanced pediatric training for doctor hmmmmmm... maybe that why doctors kill little kids

here are some more i find intresting

cut funding for research into renewable energy sources by 50 percent

delayed rules that would reduce "acceptable" levels of arsenic in drinking water

cut funding for research into, more efficient cars and trucks by 28 percent

revoked rules strengthening the power of the goverment to deny contracts to companies that violate fedral laws, environmental laws, and workplace saftey standards

broke his campaige promise to invest $100 million per year in rain forest conservation

nullified a proposal to increase public access to infomation about the potential ramificatios of chemical plant accidents

cut funding for the girls and boys clubs of america programs in public housing by $60 million

pulled out of the 1997 kyoto protocol agreement on global warming, ultimately signed by by 178 other countries

rejected an international accord to enforce the 1972 treaty banning germ warfare

cut $200 million from work force training programs for dislocated workers

god bless america

Okay... doctors are not really all that bad if they do save a lot of people ultimately supposedly... but some people should not be saved... like the ones who are too fucking dumb to stay out of traffic and they get saved... but that is a whole different issue. I wanted to give you a scarey fact about a doctor verses an insurance agent. Insurance agents must pass a big test and be licensed in every state they sell insurance in. If they fuck up one license in one state he/she loses all licenses and is never allowed to get licensed again. A Dr. fucks up in one state he or she can just move to a different state and get licensed without any problems... Insurance agents don't have people's lives in their hands, but doctors literally do... Seems things are askew to me.

fawn, i have a friend who works for a robotics company and he is a genus i have never been around someone as smart as him yet he has no consept of any thing going on in the 'real world' he is the kind of person who will walk into traffic. that does not make him stupid. and as for the doctors vs. insurance agents let me give you an intresting fact in 2000 a man named Anthony Lemar Taylor got 200 years to life in prison yes 200 YEARS TO LIFE for buying a used car and a tv with a fake I.D. its too bad he did not contribute 800,000 dollars to "president" bush's campaign. like that of David Koch who got away with dumping 91 metric tons of benzene, a cancer causing agent, into the air (who know how many people that will kill 1,000 maybe 10,000? or more

no tell me that is not worse than any thing doctor has done most of the time doctors are trying to do good but Mr. Koch was just trying to save some money (he got away with not paying the 352 million he was ordered by a court to pay) and may be kill a few thousand people and this is happing every day. This my friends is terriosim pure and simple how would that make you feel to know that because some assfuck did not want to follow laws and wanted to save a few buck he is nodout the cause of your son or sister or brother or mother or father or the guy down the street or the doctor that has spent 30 years saving lives death

think about it and god bless america

Ahem*stepping onto soap box*

First, there had to be more to the story than just buying some shit with a fake I.D., and second, we all know that lots of people in politics are corrupt...

Allow me to express to you somethings I've had trouble with in the medical profession lately...

I went to the ER with severe abdominal pain... I thought maybe a kidney infection, b/c I've had them before, and the pain was in the kidneys... I found out I had a virus, one which attacks the liver, which we all know is essential to life... Speaking to that doctor in the ER that night, I was told that depending on the strain of the virus I had, there was treatment... for one, no treatment was necessary, b/c it was ultimately harmless, and would be defeated by my body w/in a few weeks, and I would get better; for the next, I was told there was treatment and that I would get better w/in 6 months; and for the 3rd, and any other beyond the 3rd, there was not treatment avail. until it became life-threatening many years down the road, and that afterwards I would need a transplant... I found out 2 days later, that results showed it was not the first, but they still weren't sure which it was b/c someone in a lab fucked up my tests, and the doctor who told me this also told me something completely different about the 2nd strain... I came back 3 days later as told to, and found out I had the 2nd strain, at which time the message delivering doctor informed me that there were two types of this strain dependant upon the patient's immune system... acute, and chronic... Only time would tell which it was... I was not told how long it may be before I knew... and I was told there was no treatment, but they wanted to set up another appt. for me to keep getting liver enzyme levels tested to tell how well my immune system was fighting it... In less than a week, I saw 3 different doctors all from the same location, and all 3 said something completely different... I went to another office with a specialist, and finally I have some peace in my knowledge of my illness....

A friend of mine has been sick for 3 years... she has been to countless doctors, and none of them could figure it out. She went to see a specialist, and even he was perplexed. Had NO idea what could be wrong. Every idea he had turned up negative when tested. This guy worked on the case for a year, all the while her mother was begging him to give her a sonogram to look for kidney/gall stones. He refused to do this FOR A YEAR, claiming that because she was only just turning 16, it was impossible. She wasn't old enough to be at risk of such things... He finally did the sonogram to shut her mother up, and low and behold... what did he find? GALL STONES!!!

I am telling you, they do not hold high enough standards for students in med school... I will agree with you when you say that we NEED doctors and that many lives are saved every year by doctors... but we cannot let just anybody hold lives of sick people in their hands... this guy was supposed to be an expert, for crying out loud.

I also know someone who would not be here today if it weren't for doctors-- he was thrown from a truck, landed on his head, suffered severe brain trauma, and is perfectly healthy now, although he has a dent in the side of his head... I thank GOD for the fact that his doctors knew what they were doing, but not nearly enough of them do.

*stepping down from soap box* Sorry this post is so long-winded, but I really felt the need to rant for a few years... ;P

hellqueen, you are right there is more to the story the guy who bought the car and tv with the fake id was a victim of the 3 strikes law here in california. does any one but me find that odd that he gets 200 years to life while david kosh gets nothing but a slap on the wrist? (if even that)

hellqueen
02-02-2003, 12:43 AM
If he'd been busted twice before, he was probably well on his way as a career criminal, and should never even have possessed a fake I.D.--no, I don't think the sentence was fair, but he knew the consequences of his third strike under the new laws... And you can thank Bill Clinton for that law--NOT BUSH. David Kosh had the money to buy his way out--the other dummy shouldn't have commited the crime if he couldn't pay for it... Not to say that what Kosh got away with is right, just, or fair, just to say that we ALL know what a corrupt world we live in, and should be ready to either CHANGE IT, or learn to work within it, or WE SHOULD SHUT THE HELL UP!!! You know, the booming economy we had while the manwhore Clinton was in office was an after-effect from the previous president's actions, and NOW Bush is being blamed for the recession we are in when it is really an after-effect of Clinton's escapades in office--do you really think that a new bill being passed changes our economy at the snap of your fingers? Things like that take time to start working....

Ya, I just saw some program about doctors they captured for intentionally allowing others to die or killling them. There was this one women who asked her boss if "the patient dies can I leave at 8pm? and he said yes" The patient then died...

Its tragic

now GOD, you know my feelings about private gun ownership. Guns are for the military, mmmkay? why THE FUCK would any normal rational human being want to have in their family home a fully automatic 5.56mm rifle? I know GOD has a small firearm, and i can sort of deal with that, but a military issue firearm is not to be taken lightly. I was in the cadets here in the UK and I have used and fired some high powered weapons....an SLR, and SA80 L85, a .303 lee enfiled and god knows how many other .22 weapons of various manufacture........and they are all highly complex machines of destruction. a 7.62 round off a SLR will result in a fatality pretty much no matter where you are shot. All full bore military ammunition carries a lot of speed and a lot of kinetic energy....loads more than a small bore 9mm or .38. if you must defend your home, keep it suited to the task. your house is not precinct 13.
