OK guys, this is for all the Tool and/or APC fans on the board. This was just announced March 31st on the Tool website, go here (http://www.toolband.com/index_frames.html) to view it on the site, anyways, here is what the article says:
31 Mar 05
REMEMBER, DON”T KILL THE MESSENGER
You know the old saying, “no news is good news”, well… that was the case as far as the recording process was going for the new Tool CD, but now things may have changed a bit. Yesterday, when I went to the studio to give Maynard a bottle of wine (a 1992 Maya) for winning the bet that I had with him involving his new film “Sleeping Dogs Lie” (I lost by default, not being able to attend the Sedona screening), not only wasn’t Maynard there, but, in what seems to be a case of enantiodromia (something becoming its opposite) if ever there was one (!), I was told the reason why he wasn’t there. I wish this post was dated April 1, but, unfortunately, it isn’t. Like a doctor giving a patient a straight, honest answer to a medical diagnosis, without sugar-coating the truth, here’s exactly what I was told: “Maynard has found Jesus.” This will come as a complete shock to most (but not all) of you, as it did to me. In fact, it just seemed like another MJK prank until I talked to the one person who I believe would know if all this was legit or not. After nearly an hour on the phone with this person, the answer I received was that Maynard has indeed “found Jesus” and that, for this reason, he’s abandoned the project for the time being, if not entirely. I don’t know what the f**k is in the water these days, but hopefully a black jelly belly will turn up in that golden bowl… that’s all I can think to say at this point. Before leaving the studio, I watched as Danny made arrangements to go play some golf, while Adam and Justin kept working on a particular song. So, in case you missed it (those who don’t read the whole post), here’s today's news: Maynard has found Jesus…
GOOD NEWS, GO TO WWW.TOOLBAND.COM TO READ ABOUT THIS APRIL FOOLS JOKE!!

even though it says it was posted on the 31st, i don't think it was. i went there late last thursday night (like a few minutes before midnight), and, coincidently, so did a friend of mine. we both confirmed to each other that the message was not there at the end of the 31st. and both of us then noticed that the message was suddenly there the next day. i'm pretty sure they used the wrong date on purpose, to make it a not-so-obvious april fools joke.

Undertow is a great album, as well as all the other Tool albums, but my favorite was Lateralus. The music has a different sound to it and the feeling you got listening to that album was different than any other Tool album. I was hoping they would do something like that again, but I guess we won't know until the album is released.
I like AEima album, its the best tool album.
If MJK did find Jesus, then thats good...at least it gives him hope about life.

I found Jesus once. He was hiding in my tool shed.
If it is indeed true, I bet Head had something to do with it.

I could give less a shit who the man believes in as a deity, it ranks right up there with what his favorite color is. I am looking forward to the next album and I can only hope that nothing stands in the way of their progress.

your right because a mans favorite color and preffered religion both effect his music equally.

You had to do it.
Roll your eyes all you want, it's how I feel about the subject and I am in no way forcing you to feel the same way.
And also, for one (any one) who places no emphassis on religion, perhaps his choice of favorite colors would effect his music more.

Tool are the kind of guys to pull an April Fool's prank at any time, 4-1 or not. Remember before Lateralus, when they released fake song titles for the new album and then proceeded to record none of them? I'm pretty sure this is a joke, but then again, ya never know. I never assumed a guy from Korn would embrace Christianity either.

I seriously doubt that. I cant see anyone from Tool ever associating with anyone from Korn.

Haha as if Maynard and HEad are in the same league  . Anyway, I'm seriously doubting that Maynard found Jesus.

*Sigh* You obviously aren't looking closely enough at Eulogy. Maynard has stated many times in interviews that it is not about Jesus, but mainly people who think they are. "Get off your fucking cross" is a shout out to people who make it look like they're sacrificing something, just to become famous or get more attention. Finding God would not affect Maynard's ability to write music, most of his songs are based on Carl Gustav Yung's theories. So for me, if the man found God, the best of luck to him.

Finding 'god' and finding 'God' are two different things. Recognizing a force greater than yourself is different than becoming a reborn christian. When you completely buy into any belief structure you throw out logic and reason, and replace it with "faith" and dogma. When you do this, your entire perception of reality is altered, and some might argue corrupted. I'm pretty sure seeing the world through Jesus-Goggles® would have a dramatic impact on the lyrics.
Secondly, it was a joke. Read the website.

well explaine "god" and "God"? and how do they differ?

Wouldn't 'God' be the one, the God, the ones christians follow. and 'god' would just mean a power greater then you. I think that is what it is.

Ist that what God is, a power greater than us...which is what my point is.

yeah except that by making it 'God ' its stating what the christians beleive as the one and only because it is capitalized, it is his name. but if you just say 'god', not capitalized it could be any god or higher power, weather it be Zeus or any other of the greek gods, or any higher power you beleive in.

When writing about religion, it is generally accepted that "God" is the Christian god. "god" or "gods" could be any other gods.
