Every once in a while I like to call "The Talk Of Akron" WNIR 100.1 FM in Akron, Ohio using an Arnold Schwarzennegar soundboard. It is surprisingly easy to get on this talk radio station and they don't even screen any of their calls.
Well, one of their radio personalities is THE Bob Golic. He used to play in the NFL and he played "Mike Rogers" on Saved By The Bell: The College Years. So one day I decide that I'm finally gonna call him up and talk to him. We chat for about 60 seconds (using the soundboard) and I'm like "This is me Arnold Schwarzennegar"...and he proceeds to joke around and laugh about this and apologize for leaving California and moving back to Ohio. So, obviously this guy played around with what I was doing.
I'm thinking, "Well, that was pretty neat, ya know? I just had a chat with Bob Golic using an Arnold soundboard." At the time I had to tell someone about it so since I was at a computer already and I entered a football chatroom on EFnet. And much to my surprise, a few guys start teaming up on me and calling me an "Asshat" (whatever that is) for using an Arnold soundboard and calling a radio station with it.
Yes, I know it was only a chatroom...BUT since when are soundboards not cool?...Not fun? I for one happen to think they are great and they always manage to make me smile/laugh when I use them.
I just don't get it. Computer nerds who spend 24/7 on IRC call me an "Asshat"? Huh?
Well, I just thougth I'd post that on here because I know you guys don't take life too seriously like some folks do. And sorry, I didn't record the call.
