I am starting this forum for all those pump gas lovers out there. Post pics of your baby. I live in chicago so pretty much all my life i have seen these shity honda accords and other shity ricers running all over the place. So i made a promise to my self that i fullfilled 3 months ago. I was going to get a muscle car as soon as i turned 16.

I have a 1969 Cadillac 472 S&S Brougham Fleetwood Hearse. I bought it off a guy in indiana for $100, yes $100. Everytime i drive it everyone is afraid. The exhaust manifold has ben drilled to 5.5. This may look like a POS, but believe me its not. I had it dynoed and te tech told me it was pumping out an amazing 580hp!!. I didn't believe it at first. The guy i bought it from put in racing pistsons(not sure what type, as of he didn't remember), elderbrock intake with a holly 500cfm carb., straight pieps(no cadilidic converter or any bull-shit like that), he also put in a different cam but he also did't tewll me what type it was either. As you can see she also has a massive hood scoop. She also has a posi track rear axel. I bought a brand new blower and pulley set for it, but haven't put them on yet. I will be putting a flamethrower cdi ignition kit in her. She used to have mickey thompson tires but i had to sell them for money. This baby is so loud that when i am 20 feet away from more sensitive car alarm she sets it off. She is quiet ugly but she has potential. I do not have a site with her pics on it. But if you want to see her just e-mail me at neilgivens@yahoo.com

lol good luck on here man.

97% of the people on here have import or post 90's vehicles..
There's only like two people on this forum with pre-80's cars. I myself isn't one but I've been around carb'd cars all my life but all my vehicles have injectors.

After you register for an account (5 minutes most), you can upload your pictures on there for free, and then everyone can see them. I'd recommend using that to host your pictures. From what you say, it sounds like it's a pretty badass car, and I'm sure some of us would like to see pics of it. If you have any more questions about how to get your pictures up there, feel free to ask.

You didn't warn me it was such a pile! lmao....
But hey, if it has 580hp...sure but...if it does, then that's pretty fuckin cool! I just dont know why someone would sell you anything with a 600hp engine in it, as that engine is worth 10x more or more than what you bought the car from...
Id take that engine and whatever else you can, find another caddy, and swap it - then kick some ass....Driving in a Hurst is fucking weird :thud: Can you imagine if you got into a crash and died in it? Talk about Ironic.

LOL i just read what you said carboy. That thing is a tank.
1/4 sheet metal used for everything, this isn't one of those fiberglass cars. You hit someone with this thing and you'll walk away no mater what almost. The guy that had it before me used it for circle dirt track racing. I have new tires all around but i don't have extras so as soon as i have some good tires i will get a video of the monster burns it does. If you ppl see the car good, but the link doesn't always work. . I will try to get my own site up soon. O i will try putting it in the pictures section.

I can't see your pictures, but is it like this one? (http://www.santiagosc.com/Okc%20Summer%2004/Entries/web/New/57%20Chevy.JPG)

If so, I have to say that's quite funny  To each his own, I suppose. Sounds good for a 16 year old.

(oh, and don't double post ;) )

What were the casting numbers on the pistons when you disassembled the motor?

What kind of edelbrock intake?
500cfm carb sounds a little small for a 500+ horsepower motor. 2 bbl? I use a 750 double pumper on my old street rod.

Body wise, you got what you paid for...maybe. I would take the motor and put it in something else. You'll be spending more time and money than it's worth. If you wanna build a hearse, get a mid 50's caddy hearse. Those are the godfathers of hearses. A guy in the next town over from me builds sweet hearses.

The funeral home at the end of my street have racing wheels and tires on their hearses...I guess when the dead are in a hurry, they come in handy.

How many miles on the motor? Has it ever had any machine work done on it? Original crank and rods? I'm curious as to what's making it pump 580 horsepower with such mild fuel delivery. Did he give you any numbers on the cam? What kind of heads does it have?

only 30000miles on motor
I ave been looking for the make of the pistons but the number don't mach any of my searches. Maby they're custom? 500 cfm is too little but it came with the car. I want to put a 980cfm on her but my friends said that might be a little overkill. I have another body in mint condition. I will be swaping the motor out. I don't like the 50 hearses. To ghostbusterish. Everyone tries to get them. I am in a group called LasRyds that is just a group for hearse owners and most of them go lowrider or street racing. I am going pure monster. The engine was bored to 500ci, different crank i think it is custom, rods are original though. The cam is a 258 or something like that. It has alluminum racing heads not sure of make. There are hardly any modle numbers on this car.

980 isn't overkill at all. especially with the blower.
