Why are Liverpool playing so good in europe and like shit lately in the prem?
last time i checked, it was harder to beat Juve than it was Crystal Palace. At the time of writing, Liverpool is sitting in 5th place, 1 away from the coveted 4th held by everton. Right now, they look more likely to go down to 6th than move up to 4th. Somebody explain what the hell is going on with this team and why they are on the verge of glory in the CL but cant win a prem. game.

It could be they are concentrating on the European games more, because they still have a chance at winning it all. While in the premiereship, they have realized they have no chance at winning it all and aren't concentrating or using all their players. I didn't see the game, but if they rested a few stars here and there, that might explain it. Also, playing against big teams in Europe forces you to raise the level of play.

You have pretty much hit the nail on the head there Jerky, Liverpool have struggled in the league all season bcoz of the injuries which have been on a biblical scale, now we have players returning our side is stronger than its been all season (Thats handy seen as the league is almost over now  ) but they still seem to be struggling in the league, I think there are two reasons for this:
*The Premiership is such a fast paced and physical game where as in european competition players have time on the ball, its a slower pace and its less phsical bcoz you cant get away with as much in Europe as you can in the Premiership as referees are so quick to hand out yellow and red cards for what in the Prem would be considered a good tackle.
*With Liverpool's continued march in Europe players might be thinking more about European success so when they have a game in the Premiership there might be a 50-50 tackle that they pull out of or they dont give 110% bcoz they fear getting injured (and who could blame them? Liverpool's players have been dropping like flies all season) and missing out on what could well be the biggest moment of their playing carreers playing infront of nearly 80,000 people in Istanbul at the end of May.

So your liverpool are sacrificing 4th in the prem in order to win the CL. If they could manage somehow to pull it off, it would be well worth it. But, i dont think they can get past Juventus, Chelsea, and Milan. I think what is going to happen is that liverpool will be watching evertons march in europe next year.

Its not that they are sacrificing 4th spot so they can concentrate on winning the Champs League, their chance has gone, all Everton have to do is get 4 points from their last 3 games and no matter if we beat Arsenal away and then Villa at home last game of the season they will finish 4th. We have blown our chance, take saturday for instance, I dont know if you saw the game against Middlesbourgh but until Gerrard scored the equaliser (and what an equaliser it was, contender for goal of the season) our whole team were playing well below par, it was obvious they were thinkin about tomorrows game against Chelsea, it was only after Gerrard's goal we uped the tempo.
I think you are right about it being Everton in the Champs League next season and as much as it pains me to say it they deserve it, they have been good all season, I thought when they lost Rooney and Graveson they would be screwed but it shows what I know.
Also in Europe Liverpool are more often than not the underdogs, nobody gives us a chance and that suits us bcoz there is no pressure we can just go out and relax and just concentrate on our game, in the Premiership though unless we are playing Chelsea, Arsenal or possibly Man U we are always the favorites and when everyone expects we fail to produce the goods.

Dont feel bad about that. I think everyone thought everton were going to be screwed at the start of the season, especially after their 4-1 ass whoopin by Arsnenal in round 1 . I remember that thier was talk about relegation! Anyways, if liverpool were to win the champions league, would they automatically qualify for it next year? also, if they would, would everton not qualify? I figured you would know more about this than me as I support Arsenal and we dont ever have to worry about things like not qualifying for europe!!!

Its upto the FA to decide whether they want Everton or Liverpool in the CL representing England.
If Everton finish 4th and Liverpool win the CL I personaly think if there was a choice out of the 2 it would have to be Liverpool, you may think Im being baised but I think the champions should be allowed to defend their crown in any sport or competition and who do you think would be a better ambassador for England? Everton who will more than likely get knocked out trying to qualify for the CL against Maccabi Haifa or some shit random team like that or Liverpool who will atleast get to the first knock out stage of the competition?
It will be a tough choice for the FA bcoz who would have thought that a team who is so shit in the Premiership wouldnt even qualify for the next years competition but go and win this years competition?
I think if the FA had to choose between the 2 they would probably let Everton go rather than Liverpool bcoz the rules say the top 4 teams in England.
Also they (The FA) might say well look, the only reason Everton have never played in the European cup is bcoz Liverpool got English teams kicked out of Europe for 5 years.... This is why alot of Everton fans despise us bcoz believe it or not in 1986 Everton were one of the best teams in the world and if it wasnt for the ban on English teams in Europe they would have entered the European Cup and probably won it, they hate us for this bcoz Everton would be a massive side now if they had won the EC, they would have prestige and be able to attract big names in football.
English teams had won summat like 7 European cups in the last 8 competitions, Everton would have made it 8 out of 9, British teams were the dominant force back then and were miles ahead of their Italian and Spanish rivals.

that was very well put
we do feel alot of anger towards liverpool because of the ban
as basicly all our best players left because of the ban
ie lineker to barca
and we went into deline
i think we deserve to be in the champs league next season because of the way we have played all year granted that we get 4th spot as that isnt certain yet
we may get knocked out in the quilifying stage but then we would have earned the right to get knocked out
i would feel liverpool would be hard done to if they were also not aloud to be in the champs league next season if they win it
its a tough one to call
but i feel that everton should have the place as at the start of the season 4th place was good enuff to get you in the champs league
but i feel that the fa will proberbly let liverpool in instead of us
but it would not surprise me if ther was abig riot at the final and all english teams got banned again
it would just be our luck
