I just got a program called "Speedfan", and it tells me that me system temperature is around 43-45 degrees celcius. And this is WITH a fan on full power blowing right on it from behind. This is a pretty terrible temperature, right? I have two sticks of 512 pc2700 RAM and an AMD Athlon 64 3200. What could I do to possibly make the temperature go down?

add more fans,on top of ur processor heatsink to help draw out the heat,it can be wired to the other fan wires,

Really? Maybe I've been listening to my 1337 machine friend who saved up for 5 years to get his computer a little too much. Maybe.

Some people do go over the top.
Saying things like 'I just water cooled my 466MHz K6II' extreme example I know!

Right now, I have 2 80mm fans in the back(exhaust), 1 80mm in the front(intake), and 1 120mm fan in the side panel. My psu has 1 80mm, and 1 92 mm fans. My Processor has 1 8mm fan also. My CPU temp is 41C, and my case is 30C. The ambient temperature in my room is 82.3. During the winter I can get this baby down to around 35C.

So, does that mean that my temperature is ok?
Pour a glass of water on it, that'll cool it down.
Like everyone said, don't fret; it's a normal temperature. You should be much more concerened about the fire in your kitchen, go tend to it.

Hey on the upside you no longer need a heater in your room
seriously it dose seem a little hot, try adding another fan, theres usually another spare place wher eyou can plug in a hdd fan, or system fan. If that fails, take the side of you case and have a fan blowing down it. If your really concerned try contacting www.amd.com and see what they recon for the operating temperature should be for your processor, as it varys for every code of processor ect, so i cant really give you a deffinant answer. :) if you need any help, or if you want me to look up the info pm me and ill be happy to help

I've always had a temp problem with my system too. Its an Athlon XP 3200+ - hugeass heatsink/fan on the cpu, two large fans on the case's side, Power supply fan, and a rear fan blowing ******d. When I first put the thing together it would run at like ~47C or so but now its like 50-55C ... I think I need to blow out the dust or something.. though I dont think its very dustey. Argh

Water cooling is pretty expensive(150-1000$) Thats out of the question for some of us.

Processors don't burn out until like 90....don't worry about 45.

mines at 42 right now, but it bad when summer comes around, the highest i've known mine to get upto was 74 and that was after i played farcry for 3 hours straight...duing the summer, so i bought a ac unit for my room (our central air is fucked up an only cools the downstairs (and dads to lazy to get off his ass and fix it...you want to know why BECAUSE HIS BEDROOM IS DOWNSTAIRS)) and ever since then i can keep it below 50 at most times.
