Well im going to college next year and im required to have a laptop. I was just wondering what brand is the best quality in ur opinion??

id go with an hp or a dell. stay away from gateway youll just be asking for trouble. dell has some good deals goin on right now so id check it out.

If price isnt a problem, head on over to www.alienware.com

They have some great rigs on there. I've even seen 5.1 surround onboard a laptop on there :thud:

Plus being able to play mp3s while the OS isnt booted is a badass feature.


That being said I have a Presario that was really cheap. Never had any problems with it (it's the same thing as HP)

Or on the other side of the market ACER do some well priced laptops. All I say is make sure you don't get one with integrated graphics.

www.rockdirect.com , click education and you automatically get a %10 discount. the laptops are topspec, and ive not had a single problem with mine for a year and a 1/2. And i take mine to college everyday, its taken a few hard knocks but it still keeps going. cant beat the reliability

toshiba isnt a bad road to take either, hp aswell

thanks for the advice guys. guess i should look towards dell, hp, and toshiba?
