Bob Marley has some good stuff. I have a pretty wide range in music, but there are a couple of artists that manage to stand out amongst the dozens introduced to me all the time and Bob Marley is one of them. Listening to his music, I couldn't help but feel impressed. I'm a fan.

I am picky, and i dont understand why no one else is. A song does have to be "perfect" for me to listen to it. Why would i listen to soemthing thats just "alright" or "decent" or "okay". Im not gonna waste my time on something that doesnt kick a mega amount of ass. I only listen to what absolutely awesome. Why other people would listen to something or spend money on something that they simply find "decent" is beyond me. Only popular because of stoners? Hell no. I listened to Bob Marley before I ever smoked pot, which was only once. That dude's music is awesome. I know people who have never smoked before in their life who like Bob Marley. He's a really good musician. I find his songs to be the most soothing and calming songs in the world. 1. You said poetry didn't take talent by writing that haiku. I myself haven't heard about a famous haiku writer.
2. Grandmaster Flash IS TALENTED. If you can't be a great DJ (scratching, tables, etc.) like him then you have no fucking right to say he isn't talented.
3. If you can't write a verse anywhere near as good as a decent MC then you have no fucking right to say they aren't talented.

Bob Marley is popular because he is the most widely known Jamaican musicians of all time, and was at the forefront of the Rastafarian movement. He was able to rise out of the slums of Jamaica where basically the only way to earn good money is to become a musician. Bob Marley sucks. His music sucks. His kid...is better than him, only slightly. Nothing is great about Bob Marley. Just the fact that he had around 40 species of insects living in his hair is enough to make me hate him even if its a rumor. I just cannot understand why anyone would be willing to sit down and actually listen to his shitty hippy, stoner music.

While this statement is coming from a stoner, i think its safe to say that i havent heard many Bob Marley songs while stoned, but not stoned they are all pretty cool. I dont think its the matter of being stoned that makes the music better, its that your mind thinks of things you dont think of when you hear the music the music when youre high. Being high increases the pleasure to your brain as you hear the music form and flow.
