For whatever reason I hit a bees nest full of viruses. Running Ad-aware seemed to take down most of it, but scan after scan I still can't shake this one batch of files. I even opened start>programs>IStv.exe and there it is but my comp wont even let me delete manually. I've heard about safe mode but not really sure if it would be helpful in this situation or how to do it. Much thanks in advance.

Start your computer up, and right before the XP screen starts to load, press F8. Then choose Safemode with Network support. Your desktop will look like crap, but you can run scans there.

or goto Satrt > Run > type in "msconfig" without the quotes. goto BOOT.INI and click /SafeBoot then click apply then click close then click Restart it'll start you in safe mode. To get out just uncheck /SafeBoot.
