Mini flash things

Hey ppl im new here by the way and I was wondering about how ppl take videos and make them into little flash cartoons that they put onto their profiles and stuff and they take like flash cartoons and make them into like pictures which you can do the same thing with. I was mainly wondering about how you do it with videos?

if its already in flash, publish it as a .gif animation

would it work the same as a jpg animation?

yeah gotta convert the .swf flash file into a jpeg/gif file... i guess a software is available to do that... go google!
