Solution(s) to Pearl Puzzle...

The solution to the Pearl puzzle is simple but a little laborious (get out a pen or pencil to record the details):

Stage 1 - Let him choose first. Then play out the game (no need to try to win).
Stage 2 - Start the game again and choose his first choice and see how he responds to his own choice from the first stage.
Stage 3 - Start the game again and let him choose first again, then you respond with the choice he made in stage 2, then see how he responds again.
Stage 4+ - Keep reapeating this alternating who starts (you or him), recording each move and counter-move, and eventually you will corner him and win.

Sometimes he doesn't start the game the same way (there are at least 3 different starting patterns I've come across, but you can use the method above to solve each one).

ok heres the key.. u just have to use binary numbers to solve it..

0 = 0000
1 = 0001
2 = 0010
3 = 0011
4 = 0100
5 = 0101
6 = 0110

ok.. heres what you do.. u will have the 4 rows.. like this

0011
0100
0101
0110
0322 <-- the sum of the above rows adding down

the key is that you want to make all of the added numbers even numbers so u will have to take out the whole second row to make them add up to 2, 2, and 2... then he'll move.. then you add up whatever is on the board.. then you make the bottom numbers odd again... until u win.. ok thats it.. simple.. yet complicated.. ok have fun.. later
