the fight scenes in Fight Club were really cool just because they were so real and brutal.

Also in the first Matrix when Neo and Trinity just have a buttload of guns and go into the building and start blasting away the security gaurds, that was damn sweet.

Ok...could a war scene qualify or only a couple of people beating the shit outta each other?

Jackie Chan movie called Gorgeous. More of a love story, but he fights this little guy twice in the movie. Best fight scenes ever.

Once upon a time in China. The fight between Jet Li and the bad guy (don't remember the name) when they're fighting in the rain. Really awesome.

Matrix (very original and new in the 1st one, and I liked the twins in Reloaded)

I used to watch DragonballZ a few years ago (feel free to rip on me for it), but I really enjoyed watching the Good Guys vs. Cell fights. That may not exactly count because it's technically not a movie but it's still one of my favorites.

And I agree with stevib, but I liked most of the fight scenes from all the Star Wars movies, except A New Hope, where there weren't any really big fight scenes. I loved the Vader vs. Luke fight in Empire Strikes Back and in Return of the Jedi. Also liked the 2 on 1 fight in Phantom Menace and the Yoda vs. Dukku (sp?) in Attack of the Clones. Great stuff because I basically grew up watching those fights.

the last 20 minutes from Braindead/Dead Alive. absolutely brutal, absolutely funny.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon has beautiful fight scenes, though not very violent.

I suppose all the martix fight scenes are kick ass, but the lorry on is my favorite because its on a lorry moving at speed, also when neo is fighting them people in front of the french dude, and the lobby scene was a gunfight, i was after hand to hand combat style fighting, but balls to it :D
i forgot about that fight between yoda and chris lee in episode 2, but i forgot about that because the film sucked ultimate nads.
Jackie Chans rumble in the bronx was a funny film , had some good stunts and fights, i really enjoyed that, but some of the recent stuff sucks, except rush hour 2

Enemy at the Gates: The scene in the beginning where there are two russians for each gun and they charge and fail miserably.

Gladiator: The gladiator match where maximus and all are the "Carthaginians"

The 13th Warrior: The entire second half of the movie was fucking amazing but the fight where the monsters attack the town and come inside that building where they are sleeping.

Glory: Final Charge

saving private ryan: D-day is my favorite, but i stated that earlier on in the thread

Dude, they were way computer-happy with his moves in that movie. Don't be impressed with any of the shit he does.

I like segal's fighting style.Akido has got to be one of the smoothest fighting styles out there, and i like the way Segal does it.I know there are a few movies that i've been impressed with,as far as fighting seens, but i can't think right now.I just don't like that fake Matrix or The One type of fighting.

Kill Bill

Sidney and Roman at the end of Scream 3. :)

Anythin in Saving Private Ryan.

I hate to admit it, but...the fights in Charlie's Angels and Full Throttle were pretty damn well choreographed.

Kill Bill and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon have some amazing fight scenes but some of the best go to Jackie Chan and two movies specifically.

Drunken Master (the old one, not the Legend of Drunken Master) has some absolutely amazing fight scenes, if just for the use of improvised weapons (like a wet towel, chopsticks, benches, etc.)

There's another one called City Hunter (a very cheesy live-action version of anime) where Jackie and several others fight after being electricuted by a Street Fighter II Arcade Game. Although it's an extremely cheesy fight, it's worth noting that it's one of the few times that Chan has worn both a diaper and a "china-girl dress" in the same fight.

FIST OF LEGEND - Jet Li's fighting style is quick as lighting. In one scene in the beginning of the movie, around 20 japanese hot heads face up with him and get totally owned.

BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF - You have to see the fight scenes to believe them. Telling about them won't really say much.

KISS OF THE DRAGON - Of course I'm sure everyone knows how awesome the fight scenes are there. He walks into a training room of blackbelts. Hmm, maybe 20? And lays them all flat. Totally awesome. My hat comes off for him. Wait I don't have a hat. Ok I'll shave my head.

BLADE: Bloodhunt: - there is a scene where he fights a reaper vampire on a plank in a cathedral predawn scene. It is sooo cool.
By the way, if anybody didn't know, Wesley Snipes is a 7th degree black belt.

LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring - I like the part where Aragorn takes down that Orc leader after Boromir goes down.

I can't wait until Blade: Trinity comes out.

Dang that movie was bloody. Unfortunately I had some light of heart females behind me in the theatre who kept on letting out brief screams of fright during different sets. Kind of funny.

Best fight scenes. Let's see...

Matrix Reloaded - the 100 man melee (at least thats what I call it)
Lord of the Rings ROTK - The final battle
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - no specific one
Suprisingly, I think The Last Samurai had good fight scenes.

Suprisingly, I think The Last Samurai had good fight scenes. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon just pissed me off. I heard that the fight scenes were so great and when I finally saw it, it was just a bunch of flying FX bullshit. I don't mind stuff like that in the Matrix, because it's actually part of the plot. Neo pushing his limits and seeing how he can master the Matrix, ect. But CTHD was supposed to be a martial arts movie. I want to see some skill, not someone running on walls hanging from a fucking wire. You might as well have them shoot lasers out of their eyes or something, it's the same shit.

It pissed me off so much that I had to rent "Enter the Dragon" on the way home so I could see Bruce Lee kick some ass. That made me feel better.

Jesus. My uncle bought me return of the dragon or one of those punkass bruce lee / chuck norris films and I was like "Whoa it looks pretty good." I pop it into my dvd player and bam! I am sucked into the world of movies with no plot whatsoever and crappy coreographed fight scenes... Though bruce lee did kick some serious hippie ass.

Actually, they did explain in CTHG why they were able to fight like that. That guy had developed a new martial art where one could free his mind and become one with the earth (this included the wind too which explains the flying around).
