@JustinJJ - The Dillinger Escape Plan is a heavy metal band. So if you don't like rock or metal, then chances are you aren't gonna like this band. But if you do, I recommend that you check 'em out as they are by far, one of the most technically advanced metal bands ever. It'll possibly take a few listens to understand though.

Try downloading 43% Burnt, The Running Board, When Good Dogs Do Bad Things (Featuring Mike Patton on vocals), Panasonic Youth, Van Damsel and Unretrofied. They're early mini-album stuff is good as well but not as developed as they have come to be.

i like em a little, saw them with..the locust down in florida. if you like that music, they are great. not EXACTLY what i listen to. And they put on a great show too. lots of lights and strobe lights. made the moshing look pretty sweet. And the singer is very jacked.

You idiot. You have no idea what you're talking about. The point is that they do not follow the rigors of regular music, and that you don't HAVE to use power chords and 3/4 crap all the time. If you can't understand that, then you shouldn't be talking about music.

They are the best at what they do. They might not but up to par with System of a Down *cough* but I'm sure they're trying. I didn't like the latest album though...but Calculating Infinity is a masterpiece.

I'm speechless. SOAD has been ALL downhill since the first CD, and they didn't even have lineup change. After Patton split, they lost a little momentum, but they still rock way harder than SOAD these days. Have ever seen them both live? Yeah, that should explain it all.

and 2. The band and what the music is about... if you don't like complex music OR think this music "isn't complex, it's just noise!", then just stay the shit out of my thread!1 :shout:

And Jesus, to compare SOAD to DEP is pathetic. Alot of you will NEVER understand the kind of thought that goes into this music. Stick with Dream Theater or other music that's talent without the innovation, and re-hashing's of old prog rock. I like interesting music... *End Rant*
