I love Built to Spill. Doug Martsch is a genius. His solo album is damn good too. I just can't get enough of this amazing band. Who else loves Built to Spill?

do yourself a favor and listen to them right now. built to spill is one of the greatest bands out today. i just saw them live about a month ago and it was one of the greatest nights of my life.

The genre...Alternative? I believe it's considered Indie, if that means anything to you. (It doesn't to me.)

Definitely listen to "Carry the Zero" (My favorite from them) and "You Were Right," which has a bunch of references to classic rock songs.

Because the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter has more talent than most guitarists out there today, and because their songs actually have melody and are pleasing to the ear, they're crap?
