reminds me of "Isle of Man" Time Trials
That was no where near the speed of a F1 car. It's only because of the roads it's driving on that it seems as fast. The engine noise is completely different, f1 cars are so louuuuuuuuuuud when they go past.
But yeah, fuck ever doing that.

That was taken out of a video i posted some time ago. It's some kinda german race i think.
Edit - I just noticed the specs for the car on that vid 480 Bhp - 550Kg.
F1 cars have 900bhp+ and weigh even less.
Doing that in an F1 car would be ummm, i can't really explain. :shuffle:

Yeah, I don't believe that is an F1 car. Impressive none-the-less. I do have a great video on VHS titled, "The World's Fastest Cars" circa mid 90s. If I remember correctly, it starts off with Ford's GT40 and goes through McLaren F1 - Pretty poor in quality - even for VHS - but at the end, they show a F1 car versus a 911 versus some fiat or tiny Peugeot. Can't remember details...at some Euro track. Peugeot takes off first...a minute or so later the 911. When the Peugeot is 1/2 way around the track (something like 2-4 mile track or so)...the F1 takes off. Last turn he blasts past the 911 like it was sitting - VERY VERY VERY Impressive (I actually curse in disbelief everytime I watch it). Maybe, since its father's day weekend - and I asked for relaxation, I might try to make a WMV of the video...I'll post if I do for sure.

If that was an F1 car it's probably detuned and from the eighties or nineties.

Actually that's not F1 but rather F3000. Similar but lower in class.

Yup. You are correct. It's hard to tell the difference between an F3000 and an F1 car. They are the same size and both use 6 speed sequencial gear boxes.
F3000 specs:
Same size as F1 cars and 6 speed gearbox allowed
CHASSIS: 2002 Lola B2/50
ENGINE: Zytec 3 litre V8, 470 BHP
PREFORMANCE: 0-60 mph 3.1 second; 180 mph top speed
TYRES: AVON, same size as F1
DIMEMSION: same as F1
TRANSMISSION: 6 speed sequential Lola/Hewland
F1 specs:
7 speed sequential gearbox allowed
CHASSIS: Varies
ENGINE: Varies, Displacement no more than 3 litres, 1000 bhp+
PERFORMANCE: With the loss of launch control 0-60 times have increased slightly and now 3.0-3.4 times are common; 220 mph top speed
TIRES: Bridgestone and Michelin
Does this change how amazing it is for cars the same size as an F1 to be flying through turns that don't look much wider than 2 cars? Hell no! That's some great shit there!
