therion is a sweet mix between opera and metal.
bloodbath is death metal
and queensryche is an old prog rock band.

Queensrych is awesome, saw them live last week when they opened up for Judas Priest, their singer is amazing, held his notes very long, and there were some great guitar duet solos.

Yeah, I've been meaning to check out Queensryche for ages. I heard about them from some Iron Maiden site.

Wow, I did'nt realize Queensryche was considered old. haha
I discovered John Frusciante recently. He is the guitarist that used to play for the Chili Peppers. Particulary his two songs, Murderers and Going Inside. Really cool sound. He has a wide array of music after I researched him a bit.
He has a really cool guitar sound.
p.s. I found him using liveplasma that was posted. That site kicks ass.

Yea he does have a cool sound. He's very talented. He can make just a few simple chords sound amazing. I just recently got his CD Shadows Collide With People. If you want some songs, feel free to ask me. :)

No, what I'm saying is that Opeth is considered by some to metal, but I find them more gothic and shitty. Remember some people consider "Korn" or "Slipknot" to be metal as well.
And thats not what I'm saying. Another style of music I greatly appreciate is Jazz....one of the more harder styles of music to play well.
And never get between me and a metal list brainstew. It's not good for you.

You're funny. Putting Opeth into the same catagory as Korn and Slipknot. Please tell me you're not basing your opinion on Damnation. Give 'My Arms, Your Hearse' and 'Blackwater Park' a listen. If you know that stuff and don't like it, than I respect your opinion. But never call them un-metal or classify them into same field as Korn and Slipknot. It's not good for you. ;)

Ok, that's a good thing. :)
I used to download as many songs as i could, even if i didnt know the songs, just to fill my Ipod. It was great to just have it on shuffle and a song I didnt know would come up and i would fall in love with it.

I'll try to give em a listen again. I've heard several of their songs but really never got into them. If you could send me a couple tracks (msn = metallic_dbj@hotmail.com), then I could try to see your opinion. But odds are, their new album is on roadrunner, so I'm going to have to classify it as crap. Unless it turns out to go against the flow of RR........
