There's a lot of genres out there that don't strike our fancy. The challenge of this is to name your favorite, or best bands from a genre you don't like. So the next time you say you hate all kinds of a certain kind of music, there's probably band one you like.

Prog: Mars Volta

Hardcore: Evergreen Terrace (the ONLY "hardcore" band I'll listen to)

Hip Hop: Aesop Rock

Emo: At The Drive-In (They aren't emo, but they've influenced too many emo bands along with Weezer)

Metal: Lamb of God

Pop: This spanish chick named Belanova

Techno: DJ Shadow

Hip-Hop - Jurassic 5, The Roots (more neo soul, but w/e)

I don't know about you guys listing all of these genres that you don't like, but for me it's just country and rap.

Rap: Mos Def
Country: Dislike pretty much all, so I'll cheat and say Skynyrd.

Yup, another idiot who considers two of the shittiest bands ever, COF and Dimmu Borgir to be black metal.

*NEWSFLASH*

They're not good, and their not black metal. Go pick up some Enslaved, Rotting Christ, Dark Fortress or Primordial to hear some real black metal.

And also, Lamb of God being best in a metal genre?

....not even close.

I'm sooo not true to the genre  If you want to fry your brain cells by listening to Mortician, Rotting Christ, ... go ahead.

I guess I'm neither smart nor wise enough to stick everything in a category and call it a day. Grow up!

Mortician?

Are you serious!

They're one boring band. Talk about a total snooze fest. They never released anything good at all. A drum machine should never be allowed in a metal band.
I was just giving some examples of Black Metal bands, but I heart all metal. Asides from Glam, Industrial and Nu-Metal.

What about the Man in Black?

Definately Johnny Cash, I'd also say any country singer/songwriter from the "old" generation. I don't understand how country became the joke it is today, its so cold and soulless, it has none of the charm and brilliance that made people like Johnny Cash so great in the past. I would think bands like Wilco and the Thrills represent a much better natural progression from old to modern country, but unfortunately most modern country listeners (dumbasses) don't see them as belonging in the canon.

How is blues or jazz a bad genre?

EDIT: 100 posts!!!!!
