Has anyone picked this up yet? Great solo project, by one of the best power metal singers ever. I can't put it down. Go and pick it up now!

I recently discovered Bruce Dickinson's solo work. Fucking amazing. I'll go out and buy the cd as soon as I get money, for now though, i'll listen to all my downloaded stuff.

At last, I find someone else on this forum who likes his stuff. Tyranny of Souls is a good albumn (I like Kill Devil Hill most on it), but personally I thkn his best album to date was his last one, The Chemical Wedding.

I'm not sure which is better. I'm still caught in the enjoyment of this album. When I settle down from listening to it thoroughly again, I'll let you know which is better :D

Yup, the whole CD is on par if not better than Abduction. I like Soul Intruders and Kill Devil Hill a lot.

This thread would be a lot funnier if the title actually did say "tranny" like I first read it as.

I'm Bruce Dickenson, I put my pants on just like everybody else...one leg at a time. Except when I've got my pants on, I make gold records.

I'm going to pick this one up soon. I actually like Bruce Dickinson's solo work better than a lot of Iron Maiden releases.

You know, the whole Genre of Power Metal, greatly influenced by bands like Maiden, Blind Guardian etc?

yes, i understand what power metal is

iron maiden is not a power metal band...

try listening to helloween, sonata arctica, hammerfall, or something else to get half a clue what youre talking about

From what I understand, Maiden had a huge influence on power metal and were probably the main band who started it. But they aren't power metal themselves. It's just like Led Zeppelin being one of the main bands that started any form of metal, but not necessarily being metal themselves.

Power metal is what Originally Iron Maiden started out, especially off albums such as Iron Maiden and Killers.

I'd suggest to listen to Stratovarius, Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Symphony X, armoured saint, demons and wizards or metal church for some good ones.
